Unfortunate event, but you are safe. While you said it was not insured directly, you can at least check your home owner / renter insurance to see if there is some sort of coverage, and see if its worth to make that claim (if it’s possible to claim). Also notify Rolex themselves and if it ever goes in for service it will be held and you should be contacted. Otherwise, yes it can be replaced. If you can you should post up the serial number and and identifying marks (case engravings, etc.) and if the thief tries to sell maybe the buyer will do their due diligence and verify the serial via web searches or contacting Rolex to ensure it’s clean.

Sorry to hear that, having something stolen is always a terrible feeling.
Try not to let negativity in life make you lose sight of the positives.

Jay,
Bad news indeed, that really is bad. Dirty thieving b@$t@rd$, a really low trick.
I hope you are able to get some kind of insurance in place of your Daytona.

Very sorry to hear about that. Nice hotels are often a breeding ground for Rolex thieves esp in this liquid watch climate so you have to be extra wary.

Did you say it nearly happened two other times? How so?

Very sorry to hear this... I have been to Vienna many times, sounds like you were targeted.. I hope you can replace your stolen Daytona very soon and the thieves get what they deserve.

Very very sorry to hear this. I hope the thieves get what they deserve and your watch gets replaced somehow.
I know it doesn't help much, but at least you are safe and healthy, and that truly is the important part.

sorry to hear about the theft.. Sounds like an inside job from hotel employee. When i travel and stay in a hotel, i use that lock thingy that lets the door open only a few inches and also wedge a chair under the door knob before going to bed. Better safe than have someone enter at night when i'm asleep.

Sorry to hear that. Unbelievable how some make a full time job of contributing nothing at all to society and only taking.

You never know! Maybe the thieves will get caught and you will have the watch back! But try to forget about that unfortunate incident, and focus on the next day.

My last post was a rant about if and maybe I'm done with rolex due to the shortages.
But last weekend I was visiting Vienna, Austria my Daytona got stolen. It was my daily driver watch. I just miss it so much I've had two occasions that ppl tried to steal it but I managed to avoid it and save my beloved. But now it's gone :(
Life just isn't the same without my Daytona... Any kind words will be nice...
I freaking hate thieves.
I'm really sad ...
You have my sympathy. I would hate to have one of my watches stolen, and that's frightening that they got in whilst you were asleep? Sorry to hear this.

One point, though. Life isn't the same? Come on... you haven't just lost a loved-one.

Well that sucks. And is kinda scary, too. Maybe you'll get your watch back, if not, at least you have your health.

Very sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear but a lesson for all.
A Rolex and insurance should go hand in hand. Costs peanuts compared to losing watch.

Stolen Daytona - I'm so sad.

I’m sorry to hear that Jay. The likelihood of getting it back appears to be slim. I wish you the best in your search for a new Daytona.

So sorry to hear Jay. On the bright side you are left unharmed. Money and watches can be earned back. Your health and life a bit more difficult so still plenty to be thankful for. I would do whatever possible to try and get it back by reporting to police, Rolex etc. you’ll never know you might get lucky and it might reappear where/when you least expect it. Although probability of this is low. If it does it’s its a bonus, if not it sucks but life goes on. Heads up Jay!

Well the two other times it was random people who tried to shake my hand and slide it off. But I caught them in the act. One got a punch in the face and the other was pushed to the ground.
Its kind of a giveaway when they shake your left hand.
But be careful anyways.

So sorry to hear this. It's a terrible feeling to be robbed, even forgetting about the actual loss of property. And to lose a watch that is so difficult and expensive to replace especially sucks.

We lost a tennis bracelet in a move 7 years ago and it still bugs me when I think about it. But as others have said, it's just "stuff" and can be replaced one day if you want to.
