Cigar smokers
I have two smaller humidors. One holding Cubans (2 dif brands not in the cellophane) and one holding a mix of everything else (mostly in plastic wrappings. I want to consolidate everything into one bigger humidor and get rid of the two at home but am worried because Cubans should be more near 70% humidity and the others around 68%. Do you, who smoke, know if this is a huge deal as far as preservation?
Also, what are smoke of your favorite smokes? Mine right now are Monte Cristo no. 4 Habanas. |

66 to 67 preferred here. Imho 70 is too high. Consolidate.

Agree with above. Would bring the RH down for the Cubans.

I keep all cigars at 67% for long term storage. After 12 to 15 + years the box will be ready to smoke. I'll move them from long term storage to a currently smoking humidor and keep them around 70%. They burn smoother and won't develop runs at this humidity. Good quality constructed cigars regardless of origin will not smoke tight or burn unevenly at this humidity. That would be the sign of poor construction.

Put them together and favor the lower humidity. All will work out.

Man, you all have better systems than I do. I wish I could regulate mine with enough granularity to distinguish between 68 and 70 percent. I'm doing well when I stay within a 4-5% window.

sounds good guys! Love the feedback. So I should be alright with the lower than 70% humidity!
