The leaks so far are pointing to this year being a somewhat conservative release and a picture of the future direction in which Rolex are heading.

Reasons I say this - the last handful of years have been somewhat against the traditional Rolex conservative grain. Colourful and special dials, different metals (titanium pieces), different bracelet configurations, left handed pieces, case size and configuration updates, etc. Now we are seeing a possible re-position upmarket i.e. more precious metal releases, diamonds, attempts to start drawing attention to the 1908 range (where in the coming years we'll see complications start to appear).

A solid gold brick of a watch you can take down to 13,000 ft for your underwater board meeting. Super practical. Good job Rolex!

I can't even fathom (no pun intended) how heavy the Deep Sea would be.

I could see a sea dweller in gold but a deep sea? Who exactly is the market they’re targeting here?

I Need that 1908 and gmt though. Assume that gmt like all others will be impossible to get though

The discontinued solid YG Yachtmaster II in 44mm is the same type of people who will buy the new YG Deep Sea.

To my surprise, the 1908 is the one out of that bunch that immediately appeals to me.

I will definitely buy a 1908 eventually, but going to wait for the moonphase version. It’s only a matter of time since they had the Cellini moonphase.

The price point of the 1908 is absurd though. It is approaching Calatrava territory, at which point, it makes sense to just get the Calatrava.

Unfortunately a $26k+ msrp for a simple three hand 1908 means a moonphase version will allow certainly be $30k+.

It's beautiful, and I want one. I have both the white gold (white dial) and the yellow gold (black dial) already, and they get a lot of wrist time.

Sadly, after over 30 years of Rolex ownership, I just don’t identify with this brand anymore. I will never buy another modern Rolex, that is a certainty. I am seriously considering selling the few modern pieces i own and moving to Omega.

Have to agree to some extent. The white dial Speedmaster was very well done imo. Even if the new releases were available at MSRP I’d pass.

Matter of fact if these were released in 2015 I’m almost positive that new gmt would be below msrp after a few months

Not that much crazier than PM Subs. More expensive jewelry from Rolex, no thanks

A grey and blue bezel with a falcons eye dial would be pretty sweet. I feel like my ideas are better than Rolexes. :D

That new gmt is fantastic but I wish they had slimmed down the lug/ widened the bracelet, I prefer the lines on the sub.

If that DSSD was white gold with blue dial/bezel, I’d spring for it.

Replacing the tachymeter on the Daytona with diamonds is like taking the blade out of a Swiss knife and replacing it with a gold bar. It just doesn't work for me.
