Cartier Question

Does there exist any market to get discounts on Cartier jewelry like their exists for watches when dealing with certain ADs? Somewhat pains me to be able to negotiate some discounts on some high end watch brands but then pay full freight when holiday shopping for the wife

Cartier atelier, Tiffany boutique, Hermes, MontBlanc, MaxMara...

Avoidance is usually cheapest route

Based on my prior searches/inquiries there is no wiggle room on Cartier and Tiffany jewelry in the US. I am referring to the occasional customer buying relatively low ticket items.

I am curious to know if anybody has had different experience.

Got 7% off on a santos once. It took a lot of pushing.

Got 15% off some ear rings at the Dubai Mall store during Dubai shopping week. Pretty much every retailer in Dubai discounts during shopping week, so I'm not sure this is representative.

What about a Chanel bag, could I get a discount on that?

Oh yeah, I forgot.
Come to think of it, it has been rather civil around here lately.

Many years ago, a discount could be had depending on relationship, timing, product, etc.. I had bought a couple of watches and was given somewhere in the 10-20% (early 2000's), but not anymore. Cartier has become pretty tight on discounting in their boutiques. Try grey market.

Actually made money on a Cartier watch flip recently.

Wrote up a review on it here https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...hlight=cartier

I loved the aesthetics of the watch, really beautiful, but personally I found it super uncomfortable, which defeated the entire purpose of the rubber band IMO.

Someone else chimed in and had the exact same complaint. No clue why they designed the lugs like they did.

The feedback I picked up on their watches too is that they need frequent service.

Don't deal with Liar and ratbag. Buy a LV instead.

Sounds like we may have something other than watches to chat about tomorrow.

This all generally confirms my understanding too, was just hoping I was wrong :).
