oh a tough choice ,,, but , no wrong answer .

no help i know ,,, but there you go , from owning both a black and blue 16613 , all i can say is that the blue is slightly louder , and attracts slightly more looks ,,, but they both have a fair wrist presence ,,, cant help any more than that.

Black for me, the blue is very beautiful but jumps out to much for me.

Go with the LB. Blue and yellow just look so good together.

I'd go with the the LB on the Sub. Though I prefer the black/gold color combo it looks even better on the GMT, imho.

You gotta go Bluesy. If for no other reason but to honor J.J.

The sunburst is awesome but the now discontinued flat blue or Smurph dial TT Blue Sub is hard to stop looking at too.

I'm a newbie looking to purchase a new two tone Submariner and I can't make up my mind as to a conservative black or the new sunburst blue dial. My wife claims the bright blue dial would make me look like a pimp! Thoughts guys?

Pimps aren't known to rock blue dials. Watches that pimps and rappers and other gangsta wanna-be's wear generally have shiny YG, champagne color or diamond encrusted dials, and lots of diamonds on the Bezel, etc. The TT Sub with blue is considered a classic among both conservative men and unconventional dandies. It is one of the watches I am looking at for my next (between that and a Daytona of some sort).

I was at my AD Monday morning to purchase a TT Submariner. Looked at and tried on both the blue and the black Sub-c watches and left the store with the blue sun burst Rolex. Still on a Rolex high and couldn't be more happier. Go blue!

Congratulations on your purchase. For what it's worth, my vote would have been for blue as well. Great choice! The best thing Rolex did for this watch was to change it dial to the sunburst. It is truly amazing, especially how the light reflects off of it. Look to own one in the future too. I almost picked on up last week as I was picking up my GMT Master II 116710 BLNR, but could only afford one at this moment. Definitely will be one of the watches on my list for the future.

Enjoy the Rolex high! It does not last forever, but boy is it great when you feel it.

Go blue, it's has lots of different shades in different lights and angles. At the end of the day black is just black. And apparently Blue sells better

Yes a recent unofficial poll here scored a 90-10% split in favour of the Blue dial. Shocked me it was so emphatic.

I AGONIZED over this exact question for about a month. Finally, I chose BLACK and have never regreted it. The black to me is so masculine and classy and fairly versatile. The blue definitely pops, but it was just not for me. I have always loved the black dial...
