Incoming Kermit (with a twist?)
Picked up a 16610LV (again!). 5 digit subs just suit me better. So the question is, do I wear it as Rolex intended or with the black insert. I quite like black for the winter!

One of the main reasons now why the green LV insert is so expensive, and now RSC exchange only, is mainly down to those wanting to change from black to green and visa versa on 16610 and 16610LV watches..

I'm a purist ... if it's an LV, then keep on the green insert permanently.

You will change the insert faster than a woman :) It's good in both. Is the original insert green?

Not sure I understand, you bought an LV with the green bezel Im sure paying a premium for this special more rarer piece, but now you want to switch it to black so that it looks like every other sub? Just wear it as intended.

The LV sub is my all time favorite. Quite a transitional piece with the maxi dial and smaller case. Perfection IMO.

Your question kinda begs me to ask why didn't more folks buy the 16610v over the 16610ln during the 2000s. I assume most buyers and sales reps didn’t know about the easy insert swap. Then again, the old rumor is 1 v was made for every 5 LNs.
Anyway, that's the nice thing about 16610Vs, you can wear either insert and the maxi- dial and hands are a tad easier on 40+ year old eyes like mine. In summary, wear what you like. |

My thoughts as well. Sure the maxi dial. But still. An LV needs green!!

I prefer green and I have green bezel insert in mine. Black insert sits in a box.

I’m like you. I prefer the maxi dial without the maxi case. But I feel the green insert makes the watch too juvenile.
Wear what you like. Just switch it back to green before you sell it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
