Incoming (My Green Grail)

I got the call two days ago from my AD saying this had come in and it was mine if I wanted it. “IF”?!?! How the heck could I say no to this beauty! The 116613LV and the black 116500LN have always been my ultimate grail pieces so despite the “current times” I just couldn’t turn it down. I felt a little guilty spending the cash on a luxury item right now but the story behind this one will be optimism despite the unknown. I truly believe that we will all get through this and come out stronger on the other side and this watch will always remind me of that. Also a nice way to complete my Sub trio!

I know that this forum is a small sample size of the actual Rolex buying community. But I’ve seen more Sub Lv incomings in the last month or so than I ever have. More than the blnr and the blro, etc. I know the watches seem to come in waves, but I don’t recall a wave of lv ever like this.

Does anyone recall when the 116710ln or the Oyster blnr or the 116600 were discontinued were there a wave of incomings in the months or weeks leading up to it? Completely anecdotal. Just wondering is the wave of incomings perhaps indicative of something like a discontinuation and if there is any data out there that we can liken these incomings to.

Thanks in advance.

Certainly possible, however, my AD had told me that all USA Rolex distribution comes from NYC and he thinks they may have sent a few more pre-allocated desirable pieces out because of the COVID-19 situation and since they don’t know when to expect more shipments out of NYC since it’s essentially shut down. I’m not sure if this is definitely the case but I figured that I would at least share the info that I heard.

That’s great news. Congratulations. It seems Rolex must have shipped a batch of these bad boys out just before they shut down because there are lots of incoming’s including my own for the Hulk.

Thanks all! I’m so ecstatic to get this. I’ve heard for years now that the hulk was going to be discontinued and if that’s true I’m glad I got mine now. I was actually contemplating going grey on this one but was lucky enough to get the call. Now how about that Daytona...

Congratulations!

I’m still waiting for “the call” on a Hulk, Pepsi, and Daytona (I’m sure the phone will never ring)

On the bright side I added a no date sub to the collection from another forum member last night

That is beautiful. I think we are going to see a lot more incomings of grails and hard to gets.
