Attempting to learn watch photography.

So I have always loved photography and have finally picked up a semi decent camera. I am totally new to the scene and thought the best way to start is to take some photos of my Sub.

I would appreciate any tips and feedback on the pics, there are some amazing photos on the forum and I'd like to get there one day.

Thank you!

Great pictures Sheldon

Pro Tip:

It’s hard to take a bad picture of your watch from the inside of your car. The light just always seem to be right …. (from Chadridv)

I learned early on it's not the camera, it's the photographer. Natural lighting, selecting the best angle to eliminate glare, doing your best to reduce any dust, and lots & lots of practice.

Nice pics, btw.

Thanks all! I will try the car trick for sure!

Yes, dust specs and glare are frustrating pieces, thanks for the tips!

Use a north facing window, also cloudy days.

It's not hard, natural sunlight is going to give the best results if you're not using studio lights and a controlled lighting environment. Millions of examples across the internets on lighting. Your fourth pic is where you should start from and move forward as you've already the right idea with that one.
