Hahahaha

being saying it for months now. I am very good friends with a gray dealer.

They are working hand in hand with Grays to queeze and fleece the most money out of ppl while the market is hot. They know it wont be like this forever so make the most of it whilst you can.

I can ask every single AD they wont have anything. I'll call my gray dealer he will get me ANY watch in 2 days time 1000% guaranteed as well.

Yup, when I say big fish, they are generally all the grey dealers or TS or what ever other terminology people use.

I'm not a grey dealer or a watch dealer. I am a collector and own a dozen Rolexes. I'm on the list to get a Sky Dweller myself. But I'm not willing to take a bunch of purple 39 oysters and 26 mm tutones to get one either. It's not all peaches and cream for the grey dealers. Long live the grey dealer, they have the money and the stones to stretch out and rock and roll. They take the bad to get the good. They make money but they deserve it. What happens when Rolex dumps a bunch of Blue Face Sky Dwellers , that's the risk the Grey man takes just like any of the other of the hot watches at the moment. The market can change in the blink of an eye. Everybody just has to have a Blue,, cause they can't find it. If white was the hard one to find it would be the one everyone would have to have. It's a game and Rolex plays it best. I collect what I like not necessarily what's hot at the moment. But if I want something that I can't find I don't mind paying the grey dealer. The bottom line any of the new modern hot watches can be had at anytime if you just want to pony up. What's really collectibles is what can't be found at any price,, the vintage stuff NOS. That's where it gets real. John

My AD in India has received 10 SS SKY D in 2017 and 8 in 2018, of which 4 black 8 blue and 6 white.. so, you think blue is the rarest?

Yes ,, Blue is the rarest. Im looking at the worldwide consensus, not just one lucky AD.

My AD is allocated 6 SS Sky D for 2019. It's a random allocation of dials, so no guarantee that they will get any blue. In 2017 they received 1 blue dial, and last year received none .

I have a really good relationship with my AD and I now have pretty much all of the current sought after models in my collection (see signature) all from my AD.

I got the blue dial Sky Dweller in December last year having shown interest after Baselworld 2017 so it took me over a year and a half to get one.

When I picked it up my AD told me they had only had 2 or 3 since Baselword 2017. He also mentioned that for the first 6 months USA had exclusivity over it so that may explain the scarcity, especially in the UK.

Would be interesting to see how many people from the UK managed to get one from their AD within the first 6 months of release?

By no means a VIP, but in mid 2018, my AD was able to get me a black dial in about 4 months wait. They could not give an estimate on how long the blue dial would take but said it is unlikely that it will be soon.

And this I believe (although candidly don't remember for sure) was exactly split amongst the three dials (meaning only two blue/black, if the white dial is a non-starter). I was pretty surprised to hear the numbers in comparison to other watches that sell for more over list but are apparently seen with more regularity by the AD.

I’ve heard the same thing.

I got my SS blue face Skydweller in June 2018. It was only the second one to come to my AD.

My AD is expecting to receive 4 SS this year. Two blue, one black, one white. TT is special order. I've gone for a TT black dial. Will get it this year. I still love the SS but the material value of a TT is worth more to me than the hype value of the SS. I hope grey prices come down. I would revisit SS even with a TT in my collection - if the grey mark up had less gouge in it.

They are (in my experience) the rarest!!
My AD told me that they indeed got only a least amount of SS skydweller compared to SS Daytona and others

Went into my AD today to have an old datejust checked out.

I was told I have a better chance of getting the white Daytona / Pepsi this year than the blue SkyD. He did say the owner knows how badly I want it and is really trying...whatever that really means...

It’s rarer than the SS Daytona, but probably less sought after. I am hedging!

The demand for blue is much more than the black and white put together and so the difficulty in obtaining the blue at msrp, but that doesnt mean the blue is the rarest. JMHO

I was offered one in July but passed as the watch was way too big for me. It was a beautiful watch and hard to pass up.

I know a guy who’s company buys several rolexes a year for employee anniversaries. He had to wait 2 years to get the blue.

Sadly, this scenario is probably pretty typical.
