hmmmm....
50 years is a little special, just a little....
The problem with this theory is Rolex already celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Submariner in 2003, and they did it with a Date model.

I understand that. I'm just reflecting on the issue. Seems 50 years is always a big deal for Rolex. They did celebrate the Submariner's 50th so I'm just curious if the Submariner Date model which premiered with red text will get any acknowledgement. We'll see soon enough....
There were a lot of naysayers for the BLRO, myself included and they still created it. I think it's enough of a milestone, what they do with it is anyone's guess, maybe they'll do nothing.

Would love to see a new 39mm Milgauss. Something that doesn’t look like a cartoon.

It would be interesting if they update the movements on Yachtmaster this year instead of Submariner.

Batman-new movement

Datejust 36-new movement for SS models

Submariner-new movement

What I wish for is a 38-39mm Datejust. Paired with the new 70hr power reserve caliber.....would be the perfect watch. Smoth bezel and osyster!

I agree on all points and the DJ 39 would be a welcome edition to the line up

I predict that Basel will be as boring as its been over the past almost 20 years with no real new watches from Rolex, just cosmetically changed old ones.Sure they may introduce the 32 series movements into the current line up but nor a huge big deal there IMHO.As for the Milgauss ever since introduction way back in the 1950s have not been great sellers. You can count on one hand the real new models that Rolex have introduced over the past 40 plus years.Still Rolex only got to change a font or the screws with many of today's Rolex owners to proclaim a new model.

I dont think Rolex will repeat this color scheme of red text against black. Already used in SD anniversary (like the green bezel on black dial on sub anniversary).

Looking forward to the unexpected from Rolex.

Obnoxious? It's actually a unique selling point of the model range. That crown is a nod to the Rolex and Tudor "Big Crown" Submariners of yore.

Nope, it is very different: those watches did not have that ugly spacer between the case and the crown itself.
Anyway, I did not say nobody likes those crowns, I just said that I hated them and that this whole faux-vintage, retro trend is keeping me away from Tudor. And the fake rivets, and the aluminum insert, and the replica gilt dial.

That’s fair. It also might be too close to the OP39 black dial.

Wait lists aside, typically how long after Basel will the new Rolex releases be available for purchase? Does Rolex start shipping right after Basel or not 7ntill months after?

You didn't hear it from me... no you didn't...

I’m hoping for a darker blue. Think Bluesy with white accents.

Back in 2013, I bought a Honda Accord EX-L for my wife for $23,500... Changed the oil and put gas in it - that was it. After 66 months of ownership, sold it yesterday for $12,000. All things considered thats a win on the depreciation and getting to drive it for so long.

Just think of the 116619LB as a fully-loaded accord... it doesn't need gas and it will be worth more than $12,000 when you go to sell it!

Rolex will make a Cerachrome fluted bezel in one of their models, such as chocolate fluted on RG Skydweller with chocolate dial.

You can get a smurf for 24k and I doubt it goes below 20k ever. Yes at full retail you get hosed.
