New incoming Omega-Swatch Speedmaster Mars

I think the whole series is pretty cool and fun. And whatever they did for marketing was surely a hit.

Can I say I finally got my Omega Speedmaster?

We'll, after putting on Mars I have to say no, not really.i would love to if I could but there really was no heft or weight to it. It does feel a bit like a toy. I do really like it, it's just not really a speedy.

I'm excited that I have one of the planet watches, and excited about how it's tied into Mars and perhaps someone might go there in my life (if they get a move on)

And excited for it looking like the Alaska project.

Lots of good stuff and I feel pretty lucky to be here and talking watches.

Go Omega! Go Speedmaster!

Congrats on finally snagging one. I finally got a Mission to the Moon variant, just a few months ago. I was one of the people waiting in line at Swatch, in SF, over a year ago, now, on release day. I knew the line was too long, and I would miss out, so abandoned the idea pretty quickly. On the upside, I had a great day in the city, shopping, having lunch, and even running into former Mayor Willie Brown. Enjoy your Moon Swatch.

Who cares? It's a fun summer watch :)

And the most ridiculous thing is that these are already being faked! Yes, there are already fakes on the market, because the huge demand for them is so great And the Neptun version has rocket high price due to the recall. Who would have thought this before?

Anyhow, congratulations from Jupiter

Unfortunately the fakes are better than the originals. If the watches were actually decent, the concept would be a solid one. For the price, they should at least be the same quality as a CasiOak. Sadly they are not.

How do you know that? Did you buy a fake?

I have never, and will never, purchase a fake or homage watch. A fellow RedBar member brought several originals and fakes to a meetup to compare. I think Swatch is punking their customer base.

I think the Moon Swatches are overpriced, and like you, would not buy a Chinese knock off. I did buy the “Mission to the Moon”. Homage watches, on the other hand, are fine, by me. Not everyone has a Rolex pocketbook. I really like my Steinhart ocean One 39, which certainly is a Submariner homage.

There are plenty of low cost watches that deliver great design and value without trying to come off as something they are not.

That's a great strap. I definitely need one, it's a bit small for me. Where did you get yours?

Perpetual Straps. Specially made for the MoonSwatch. Use code WATCHFLUENCE for 20% off. They are excellent straps for the price and a near perfect fit.

Thanks Mike. Do you know if it fits a large wrist?

I'm not sure how this equates:

Point-Side Length: 120mm

Buckle-Side Length: 81mm

The strap is 7.87 inches total length. You should be fine.

Yes it does. My wrist is 7.5" and there are 2-3 holes to spare depending on how loose or tight I want to wear it. I'm sort of in between two of the holes.

I understand how you feel, but all watch designers take their inspiration from other watches. I like the look of a Submariner and have owned one. Unfortunately, It was stolen. I will have another, when prices normalize. In the meantime, I can enjoy a similar aesthetic, when I wear my Steinhart. Neither I, nor Steinhart, are doing anything wrong, IMO.

That is a cool watch. And those OG straps have little to be desired. A cool watch deserves a cooler strap.

I'll post photos when I get it

Kat you MUST do it! The OEM strap is a hot mess. You'll be much happier if you get a new strap, trust me!
