116610LV Shortage
has anyone else noticed the recent spike in the grey market for the Hulk? Seems a year ago they were 8.......now 10 bnib.
Is this speculation about the end of the series......like the 16610lv run of 7 years or just hype? My AD got one in and i reserved it this week but i am told that there were a few folks that were desperate for it.......is this a sales hype or legit? Seems odd that a watch that has been out for almost 7 years is this hard to fund and trading for a premium like this......the SD43 is easier to get....and it should not be..... |

Mostly hype created by internet watch forums.
Also the fact Rolex only makes one Hulk for about four black Subs. Nobody really knows if this watch will be discontinued. |

Grey market prices have absolutely surged this year...not sure if it's just hype or if there's a run on them by grey market dealers to drive up the price...in either case, glad I got mine before the surge!

....but it never gets old?
From a quick review of recent threads on the Green Ghost, I think all views and insights on rapid price rises, it will/it will not be discontinued, the mythical 1000 piece order and the bountiful availability (or not) in certain midwestern states have been expressed. ...but maybe something new will come up... https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...highlight=Hulk https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...highlight=Hulk https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...highlight=Hulk |

This was how the SS Daytona hype started. Real or not it’s happening so I guess it’s not hype.
Nobody really knows how many LVc’s are made compared to other models or it’s future so anything you read is pure speculation.

It's legit. My AD got one about a month ago, but it was already spoken for. As to when the next one gets in is anybody's guess.

I personally don't think it is about to be disco-ed but something has stirred the rumour mill and the market makers have responded. Rolex have said popular SS production has stopped for this year so I wondered if prices were moving up on the BLNR etc or is it still just LVC specific? Interesting times...

I caught onto the Hulk fever. It was never really on my radar, but I had never seen it in person. Once I saw it in person, I knew I had to have it. But by the time I got around to asking in September, the waitlists in the Toronto area ADs had exploded, and many ADs reported not having received one for a while.
I got one this week and I still managed to pay under full Canadian list price though. I'm seeing TS selling pre-owned for $10K USD and up which to me is insanity. Asia has apparently gone even crazier for them. I've read on some HK forums they're going as high as $11.5K USD or thereabouts. |

Its very difficult to get one in Asia. Long waiting lists.
Grey market prices around USD 10k - but haven’t seen any stock coming in for some time.. |

I'm currently saving for one and plan to buy soon. Absolutely no way I'm paying over MSRP. My local AD has one in stock every time I visit.

My current goto AD received 3 Daytonas and 2 Green Subs so far this yr. I was lucky to be that 2nd dude who received the watch yesterday. At least in Canada, it is as hard as to get Daytona atm.

I already have one. So someone jump on this before Rolex discontinues it. Could be midnight tonight. Or not! But maybe. |

I was looking at one at Iconic today, but it is listed at an eye watering 8434e/$9.9K.
While I find it interesting, I prefer an LN since it's indeed easier to match with my clothing style and I usually wear the same watch for long periods. Would suck if they release a new SubC next year tho. Been a long time and the next version will probably have a ceramic dial, which I would like (have it on Omegas and I bet they will age a lot better-no corrosion,no fade). |

Is it a fabulous piece? Absolutely.
I picked mine up used on here 10 months ago. It's insane to think in that time, a 2k price spike happened. Just enough to contemplate parting ways with it. But not really |

It's all hype to create demand, great Rolex strategies. Ad will leave the hyped watch for their local repeat buyers. I have a good relationship with my ad and I purchased 4 Rolex from them and sent family members to also get rolexs. I asked about the Daytona last week. They told me if I want it they can get it for me bc I won't sell it to make a profit. AD knows who's a local and who's just looking to buy to flip a watch. They're professional sales, same as what you do for a living. You know your own field of business.
