SubC and BLNR

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and very much enjoy the great content on here. I bought my first Rolex a 116610ln back in July from an AD, still absolutely love it but I've got a craving for more!! I'm really drawn to the BLNR although I'm worried its too similar to my sub, after asking the opinion of a few friends they have backed up this opinion, none of them are into watches may I add. What do you guys think?

Thanks
Ollie

Too similar for me. Had the BLNR and SUB C Date earlier in the year. Sold the 116610LN and replaced it with the LVc.

Was in your same shoes about a month ago. Got my subC then shortly after got my BLNR. Two completely different watches. Especially if you mix and match straps

The BLNR is more sporty imo yet goes well with a suit and is very versatile plus I love the GMT function
Here’re a couple of pictures for comparison

Quite different!! The PCL and bicolour bezel make it standout against the Sub. Would make a nice pair in my opinion.

too similar for me. I'd trade the LN for the LV as suggested above, and then add the BLNR

I would not own both those watches if they were my only two. Too similar.

The two are close in size/shape but application is totally different.

I had the Blnr then added the sub Nd and while they are different, they are also very similar. The sub makes a great daily while the blnr makes a great weekender but I can see myself switching up the sub in the future because sometimes they feel too close.

I would suggest on a different watch unless you really like the blnr, then get that and maybe switch up the sub if you feel they are too similar.

I owned both 116610LN and BLNR at the same time for about a year and a half. In the end, I found them to be too similar so I sold the Sub. Best thing about having both in the same collection is putting the Glidelock bracelet on the BLNR for when you get sick of PCLs and wanna wear it a bit more actively.

I would do 114060 and BLNR or LV Sub and BLNR (my current duo).

I just got a BLNR and absolutely love it. Can’t post pics yet but will do soon. To be honest I wouldn’t want both as they are very similar. I was choosing between that and the Sub ND.

Had a SubC. Wanted a BLNR. Wound up buying the BLNR, selling only the watch head of the SubC, and put the SubC bracelet on the BLNR. Perfect.

Both can easily coexist but I'd want more variation in the Sub by having either a 114060 or 116610LV.

When you get right down to it, there is an inherent similarity across a lot of the oyster line. Bottom line, if you like it, then no, it's not too similar.

I have both watch, plus I have a 16710 pepsi. Talk about similar watches. For a regular person they might look similar but for me they are very different.

I have both SubC Date and BLNR. Find it redundant too, especially because I favor my DSSD when I feel like going monotone.

This is the reason why you will see most collections here include the Hulk and the Batman, it's just more color variety.

I'm guilty too. Will be selling my LN to fund the LV.

To 99%+ of the population they are the same watch.

To us here they are completely different. Lol.

The LVc and BLNR make a great combo. I also think any Sub/GMT and a Datejust is a great combo. The black Sub and BLNR are too similar for a two watch collection, IMHO.

I have both and they work really well together. Tend to dress the BLNR up with shirts and jackets, and dress the SubC LN down with casual wear.

I had a five digit sub and a five digit GMT. Ultimately they were too similar and the sub got the lion’s share of wrist time, so I flipped the GMT.

I would think they are very different. Average Joe wouldnt notice it but you would know.
Subc is very classic imo, when blnr can be worn in sporty clothing.

I have to agree with what some others have said, the LN is too similar to the BLNR in a 2 piece rotation IMO, but if you can swing it and trade up to the LVc I can promise you won't regret, these 2 make a killer combo!

The ceramics are very similar - GMT > Sub.

I would. It have two ceramics. Far too many other watches out there - Rolex and others.

I fell in lust with the BLNR and truly enjoy wearing the watch. I’ve looked at the Sub Date several times, but I find it redundant to the GMT.
