best polishing cloth

I have some light scratches on the strap and clasp,

would a cape-cod be my best purchase?

many thanks in advance.

No...best case, if you know what you're doing, you're going to start a pattern that is going to eventually ruin your watch with obsessive polishing.

Worst case, you're going to have to pay somebody to professionally restore the damage you do.

Best advice, embrace the scratches and enjoy your watch! U can’t beat the original polish job.

You would be better off leaving them alone

I think you’ve been convinced to leave it alone. Please do and enjoy your watch. It’s too easy to ruin a watch with a cape cod if you get aggressive or obsessive.

I find CC cloths to be useful when used lightly and sparingly, no heavy handed usage. I use to get a little shine back not to try to remove anything specific.

Absolutely. The CC cloth will not ruin your watch any more than waxing your car will ruin your paint. Excess is not a good excuse to completely dismiss the tool. I have brought back dozens of watches to pristine condition with a CC cloth. You just have to know what you are doing and use very light pressure. Many like to lump the CC cloth in with the same polishing power as a Dremel. It’s not even close. 904l steel is a bit picky to polish perfectly so a novices with a CC cloth should start on a different SS watch and perfect their skill before attempting 904L. When in doubt, let a professional polish your watch.
