Submariner VRS GMT Master II Back on Black

Just interested in what others on here think. Pros and cons between the Sub and the GMT Master II.

I have owned the GMT iic:

Pro: gmt function, large gmt bezel,
Con: polished center bracelet

I current own the current sub date:

Pro: Glidelock bracelet
Con: none

I would like my next watch to be GMT SS coke but I would switch the bracelet to a Glidelock bracelet when it comes out.

There are no pro or con on these watches. Both are great and I personally like the GMT better for its functions.

I have and love both. The Gmt is just a tad more comfy and I've grown to like the Pcls. The Sub feels a tad more substantial without the heft. The glidelock is great but I never adjust it more than the easylink, that being said l wish it were slightly shorter in length. If l had to choose one to keep it would be the Gmt but l don't and as l said l love wearing both for different reasons, meaning my mood..

No pros or cons imo. Each model has their own different functions for whichever activity you want it for. Or whichever style/look that you want it for. The only con I can think of is not owning both??

Would you guys agree that the GMT is catching up with the Submariner as far as popularity is concerned?

I think the Basel releases with the new movement last year helped with the GMT’s popularity, but I still see and hear more about the Sub by a factor of at least 2!

I think it's just perception. Even with all the new releases I would wager the Subs are much popular and sell more units. The last few years Rolex has dropped mostly GMTs and even with all that the Submariner has sold strong and the LVC increased in popularity.

The delta is probably very very slim, if a red Submariner or one with thinner lugs comes out, the demand will be far worse than even the BLRO at least initially.
The Submariner has always been more popular and with stagnant production, you can still see just how well it has sold while the GMTs have been mostly new models these few years.

Yes - there will be waiting lists for them one day

On a serious note, one person’s negative is another’s positive - I like the PCLS as an example.

They are both great watches, I currently do not own a sub but hope to put that right soon (bluesy most probs for reasons above).
