My AD knows somebody who knows somebody who knows a guy who heard from another guy that said stainless steel watches are coming soon

Just thought I'd mention it.

i was at an AD today and i am 100% serious this is what happened.... AD: " Did you hear the rumor that Rolex is buying Patek?" It was a Rolex AD who said that BTW.

I said its doubtful but yes i had heard it. Then he said, there is a divorce happening so someone needs money and they need to force a sale.... I said not that i know of, but it was me that floated that possibility on the internet in the case that the rumor was true as a possible reason they "might" need to sell.

I was quoted by an AD as a source of information back to myself. I almost fell over

I can dig up the post somewhere in the Patek section where i said it. https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...76&postcount=9

Point being, they get info from people who have no idea

My AD also confirm Rolex has finally increased the production of SS models but still will take sometime to meet current demand but at least, it will improve a lot this year ... finally

I heard stainless steel Daytona production might increase, decrease, or maybe stay the same.

When I was collecting my Submariner from an AD yesterday he said there are rumours on Rolex forums that the BLNR is going to be discontinued - he didn’t know whether it will be or not !

My AD is very good and dismisses almost every bit of gossip on forums etc. They have a very long relationship with Rolex and are often visiting...and yet, never know what they are going to do!!

Gave my AD a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day, he became very reflective and said.

Rolex is like a box of chocolates you never know what steel sports models you are going to get

Exactly, Rolex info is very much an echo chamber, where rumors bounce around so much the source gets lost and can be marked as legitimate info

What i conclude for experience over the years is that not all ADs are the same. There are def. some rubish Ads out there and with time, Rolex will wippe them all. On the other hand, the most important ADs or the ones who eventually, know a litle bit more of the inside, they ust simply wont speculate, you try to get info from them and they say Nothing!!! They will smile to you, they will aknowledge you, but all they say is very superficial, like "yeah thats right", "yeah thats true", "yeah thats sad", "yes lets hope for that"... And, those... those are the Ads who eventually will know a bit more, with a bit more of a insight. Best regards.
