How would you configure a GS

For me it would be Titanium, bracelet, 12mm thin, date hand, power reserve, moon phase, 42mm case, spring drive, no text on dial just the GS lion, display case back with no text or image on crystal, olive dial with gold hands and indices, non-rotating bezel, moon made from silver.

Price it around $15k as a numbered limited edition and put more R&D into the bracelet so it’s perfect and comfortable.

They do make that. It’s the sbgy002.

I’d go with a Shinbun (SBGA413) with a blue seconds hand, power reserve in the back. Also, adopt the same caseback logo that the SLGH003 has, which is only faintly visible depending on how the light hits it. Add a glide lock clasp, then I’m all set.

The newly released SLGH003 would look great if they removed that hideous red second hand and opted for a neutral silver or gold-toned seconds hand. That, and removing the "80 Hours" on the dial print. In fact most of the text should be removed from the dial except GS and Grand Seiko.

Generally speaking, GS needs to fix its bracelet design for all of its models and create a better clasp offering tool-less micro-adjustment. This is the only thing holding the brand back, in my opinion.

41mm case with spring drive GMT or the new hi-beat 9SA5 movement, that is 12mm or less in thickness and a bracelet that feels more Rolex/Omega and less Seiko. I also want the power reserve on the back.

38mm, manual Spring Drive, 44GS case with bracelet, 10mm thick, power reserve on rear.

That'd be enough for me to pull out my wallet.
