After my Father passed I found this watch in his dresser drawer. I never saw him wear it and I have never seen this model. Does anyone recognize this watch? Can anyone tell me about this watch? Thank you!

Appears to be impersonating a Rolex 6236. Sorry to hear about your father. I would treasure my father’s belongings regardless.

I would think a fake would at least the fake marked end links......sorry about your father, post a movement pic when you get a chance

Nice find. Most likely a 6036 from the 50s also known as the Jean-Claude Killy. One of the most complicated watches Rolex ever made. Nice example.

Even has an oval link jubilee bracelet, there's one of those on ebay for 2700 right now. :)

Easy for the uneducated to say fake, I am uneducated but I am going to say that is a beauty, quality is superb IMO

Well if its real its a very valuable watch could be a 6236,but the movement inside will be one from ETA Valjoux and not Rolex in-house made, as they never made a chronograph movement till introduction of the cal 4130 in 2000 .

Judging by the coronet position I believe kieselguhr got it right with it being a 6236. Appears to be a 3 pc case as well

Presumably a Valjoux 72c movement (or 73, which is equivalent). If so, it's a solid movement used in a wide range of triple-calendar chronographs by many Swiss brands.

Value aside, that Rolex model is really cool!

It’s a good reminder that the brand has released watches outside of Datejusts, Subs, Explorers, etc.

Edit: just reviewed that link with the great information about the watch family...yep, those are some big auction numbers.

I will go for a 6236 with the dial without the seconds over the marker. Can't tell if repainted, normally above the coronet the date should be 1 not 31, but could be a variation...

I agree with you.....but why would a near NOS watch have or need a repainted dial.....we need a movement pic and case number pics
