How many of you are into shoes... (Dress Shoes)?
So long before my watch addiction, I was into shoes. I have quite a collection and are wondering how many other forum members are into shoes?
Most of my shoes I have stripped, recolored and added a patina to. A few pairs were beautiful enough from the factory that I kept them stock. I also decided a year or so ago that I needed a shoe specific closet inside my front door. It's deep enough for a large shoe and holds 18+ pairs. So here are some pics to get this thread started... Louis Vuitton Derby Santoni Magnani before color Magnani after coloring/patina Allen Edmonds with a proper shine J Fitzpatrick the day they arrived from England A different pair of Magnani after coloring and patina (first pair I ever did) Scarpe di Bianco A third pair of Magnani recolored/patina Bontoni Riccardo Bestetti (one of the most amazing shoes ever made) Also my Holy Grail of shoes! The shoe closet I built... Yes, that is an Oakley display case behind me... Sunglasses are an addiction too. Collecting for 25+ years... |

Actually English shoemakers tend to be more where I am at and Edward Green tends to be my favorite brand although I find myself purchasing Gaziano and Girling Shoes lately. Here's one from Edward Green. The Falkirk is one I really like.

Nobody does the split toe better than Edward Green in my opinion and the Dover and its handsewn apron is just one of their Icons.

Two of my favorite things. Burgundy and the short wing. It's a faux short wing but a short wing for sure.

I was looking at this exact same pair of DMS John Lobb shoes yesterday. My wife decided I needed a messenger bag more, since I carry around a very functional and ugly pelican case. So, I'm sure you have heard of and read The Shoe Snob? I'm so happy there is another guy that cares for shoes like I do. |

Dan, I'm now waiting for you to break out a pair of St. Crispins, gray with red piping...
Your shoe collection trumps mine. Congrats. You have some amazing footwear. I still have you beat on the shoe storage though... :) |

Thank you sir. Pretty easy to get it right when choosing shoes from Edward Green, John Lobb, Gaziano and Girling, and St Crispins.

No competition here, just an appreciation for fine footwear.

More into casual shoes myself, as I don't "dress up" very often... I'm a big fan of "Drivers" though.

Not dress, but it is my favorite model of boots and it is in Zug.

Did I happen to mention that there's something about spectators that I like as well?

How did the liking of boots come about? I really, really want to like them, but I just can't. I don't know why. I'm so hung up on oxfords and monk straps...
I like the boot itself, and think they look great on others, but on me, I just can't do it. What made you like boots so much? |

I'm guessing that these are all virginity photos. All of these beauties have been worn, and have some character by now, right?
