By no means my only Rolex, or even only Daytona. Nor my most valuable. But easily my favourite.

It's just perfect.

THIS! Just landed mine (have had the black dial for 4 years) and the white is the champ in my book. Perfection.

I truly miss the functionality of this watch whenever I wear any other piece.

Include the other bezel inserts and a Jubilee bracelet, and it's six watches in one.

Tough call on my small collection really close between DJ and SubC but the Sub wins

I´m a huge fan of the old 5-digit Subs. But then I'm biased...my old 14060 is my only Rolex, worn nearly every day for nearly 25 years. I even love the old jingly-jangly Oyster bracelet. Yes, I know the modern bracelets are much better (glide-lock etc.) but there we are..!

While I do not own a Rolex and likely will never own one if I did take a dive into the crown it would be for either the last 36mm Explorer I or a gold 36mm DayDate.

Crazy the number of different models listed in this post and you're all correct! Most any Rolex can be considered their best reference. Up until recently I would have said the black dial 42mm Explorer II, but as of today I will go with the 39mm Explorer. I've never had a watch fit so effortlessly into every situation. It's a masterpiece.

My BLNR no question. It is my Grail watch and was a gift from my wife in 2019. It has very special meaning to me. It is a stunning watch for everyday occasions be it in the office, visiting clients, on the beach, hiking. Fits my everyday wants from a watch.

What is your favorite reference and why?

My favourite reference is your other watch - The 40mm YM with Rhodium dial. I don't own it myself, but I have tried one on and the fit/feel of it is fantastic. It is such a versatile piece, and not as common as other watches of a similar look. The dial is superb.

Thanks, I also love all the other three Rolex I own including of course the YM you refer to. Here's a couple of photos of it with the blue strap on it.

My favourite is Submariner ref 14060M 2-liner. To me its the perfect size, iconic design, dial symmetry is nigh on perfection and up until recently it was a bargain.

I regret letting mine go last year, even though I made a healthy profit on it. Prices for a good example now are so high that buying another one seems counter intuitive.

Either my white dial Daytona 116500 or SubC Date.
Two Classics in my book.

126613LB. The beauty of the two-tone blue Sub is what first got me into Rolex many years ago. The 2020 update is the best version yet IMHO.

Tough choice. For me, it’s the Daytona for sheer looks or Sky Dweller for useful functionality.
