Old dial still white?

Can a 40 year old dial still have bright white markings?
I was thinking that even in a drawer the markers would begin to yellow.
But this dial I was looking at seems newer/service, but theres 121xxx on the back.

In a drawer the mostly accepted theory is the tritium would patina even more than if out in the light... As for this dial, it could be the picture but it also seems that the lume is washed form the dial. Do you have more pics?

there's no more helpful pics, just the back of the dial. Is it possible to remove the lume without a trace?
I think I'd rather have a more patina'd dial anyway.

If the lume is still there its likely a luminova service dial, despite the t<25 marking.

I don't think any service dials had the Lemrick 121xxxx number on the back though. Of course I could be wrong.

My 1979 5513 Maxi MKI is snow white. I've seen many Maxis very white.

Not so sure about 1680, but from the OP's pic one can clearly see the foggy/blurry perimeters of plots, meaning it's not the paint underneath the lume, it's THE lume.

For comparison side by side with 16800.

Singer made the red line dials and I believe some ft first dials. I have seen the 121XXX stamped on the back of 1680 dials. The ft first dials for the 1680 I have seen the 121XXX stamp on the back. Contact vintage Rolex watch experts and show photos of the front and back. And yes this dial sure is white.
