Chipped Cyclops Replacement?

Anyone have experience with a chipped cyclops? My Explorer II has a small chip on the edge of the glass. If so, have you had it repaired and how did you do it (cost, how long, etc.)?

I assume that when it's time to service the watch Rolex would make the repair, but was curious as to what the group has experienced

i’ve had the same issue
had my crystal replaced when i sent my 16570 to rsc for a service, cost of crystal was $180, in addition to the service cost

As mentioned above, it would be a complete crystal and not a replacement cyclops.

Thanks guys- seems crazy that this is an issue with these watches given the cost and supposed durability, but in the end I guess it is just glass, sapphire crystal or not.

This is an issue with sapphire crystals if you hit them hard enough. They are usually pretty durable.

I wouldn’t single out sapphire as having an ‘issue’.

If you hit anything hard enough you will damage it.

well yes, was not implying it is flawed or anything of the sort. More or less just the nature of the material (hard items being susceptible to chipping due to being brittle.)

the crystals are quite strong.
