I just hope nobody pushes this guy into a river, otherwise straight to the bottom he and his gold will go.

If the stock market goes up 333%, yet the underlining currency has only 1/3rd the value it once was... did you 'make profit'? This is something that 'trips up' newbies about market 'valuation' and how the market "goes up" in face of declining currency valuation.
You bring up good points on inflation. And inflation is not always correlated to CPI-U imo, so not everyone notices on paper. Heck I'd be curious if we could even get to a handful when counting the number of countries that have seen significant real wage growth since the early 90's...

My dad converted his 401 to a Gold IRA in the late 90s, good timing for him. He has to take mandatory withdrawals and his balance keeps going up

Excellent point and the US Gov waay back in the 1930's did a propoganda video of how the Federal Reserve's US Dollar product's devaluation (inflation) was good, and then claimed wages would also go up (the same amount, which we know has never happened as wage incease always lag or are nearly non-existant).

Today, there's COLA payment increases for US retirees, who will tell you the COLA increases NEVER equal actual currency devaluation (aka inflation). Shadowstats is a good site to see more accurate data than what the US Gov supplies www.ShadowStats.com/alternate_data

yes, a lot of this asian gold is between 21-24k you can instantly see by the type of clasp, the gold is maleable and won't break opening it.

its too bright yellow in colour to wear Imo, I just keep them as you would bullion or coins.

How many grams is your chain..? Here one I have pictured that I recently bought in Dubai is 350 Grams or about 11 OZ.. It is 23CWT as i could not find anyone in Dubai selling 24CWT in jewlelry but they did have 10 kilo bars of pure gold if you wanted..

Gotta love the insane color difference between the two. Indians prefer the same, 22-24K gold. And the color is almost a deep yellow orange compared to a yellow from an 18k blend.

Wristlet above is 275 Grams of 23CWT as I bought it too in Dubai a year ago July..I also bought one for my wife of 250 Grams.. We have gold that belongs to my wife from the 1960's when my in-laws bought it also in Dubai under 100.00 per oz...

In precious metals, Silver has out performed gold in terms of percentage gained... BY FAR.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a nice tray or box that you would keep your coins rings etc in your safe as mine just sit on a shelf inside it but would like something that looks a bit nicer, the ones I see online all look really cheap granted I’d like to pay a little and get something that looks a lot :-))
