Insurance other than jewelers mutual?

My wife and I were just stationed In Japan and I was going to insure our watches and her ring through jewelers Mutual but after reaching out to them they told me they only insured items that were in the US at least half the time.
I was hoping others out there might have recommendations for other insurance companies you’ve used I could look into.
Thank you,
~Pat

Pat, thanks for your service from a crusty old Naval Officer. Are you by any chance with USAA? I have a personal property policy with them for my Skydweller, $16,000 for $75 a year; quite reasonable.

rider on home owners, for years I said I would never do it this way but it just really didn't make sense ignoring it anymore, much better coverage cheaper than JM

Thank you, all for the recommendations.

I do have USAA, which is who we had renters insurance through so I’ll reach out to them.

Unfortunately I can’t use USAA as I won’t have home owners or renters insurance since I’m stationed in Japan.

From their website

“ You will need to have a USAA Homeowners Insurance or Renters Insurance policy to purchase a Valuable Personal Property (VPP) policy on usaa.com. You can learn more about those policies at the end of your VPP quote.”

The downside is that if you make a claim for Jewelry you will have your premium bumped for both jewelry and home owners next year. Thats the only reason I decided to separate them.

Untrue, its an excluded rider that has zero effect on the parent policy! I would not have dropped JM for anything that created more issues than it solves.
