I love how a 100k watch sitting for a week is considered slow moving haha

Mr. Journe believes in efficiency so combining complications is not what he will do for most of his models. This is a philosophical issue and maybe FPJ is just not your cup of tea.

In terms of innovation, I think the “indestructible” QP, natural escapement in CQ and RQ, are all very innovative. And aesthetically, some of the models do need some “adjustment” and I can agree that this may not be for everyone. Not sure what other design innovations you may be referring to since other than movement, the dial side is really just personal taste.

The Elegente family was an innovation in term of design. Same for the sport models (even if I am not a fan of these sport models but that is out of the scope).
For Patek, you have Nautilus, Aquanaut, Ellipse, calatrava...
For Lange, you have Odysseus, Lange 1, 1815, datograph, Zeitwerk...
For Journe, it is limited.

Seriously? Is this a spoof?

Innovation is at the very essence of FP Journe. Every reference incorporates horological innovation.

But instead of bothering to write a lengthy and exhaustive response, I’ll just smh and leave this image here with a link to the recently announced Only Watch 2021 and the watch FP Journe submitted.

Journe should've made the hand an Infinity Gauntlet.

We can hope, but I seriously doubt it.

There was a thread awhile ago about what an "F*** You" watch was. I think FPJ may have just nailed it

As soon as I saw the early release pix of that watch I was waiting for someone to post that Photoshopped pic!

And, for the record, I think the CB is such a special watch (I fell in love with the dial the second I saw it in person & @ 39mm it's a perfect fit on me), & I was so lucky to get one, literally, LNIB, a couple of years ago (before the spike!) that I would not even consider parting with it.

FP Journe watches all look the same to me visually - only cosmetic changes but of course agree with the constant innovations in software the firm is pulling off. I just don't like their design

You have to give it to Journe, he really does do unique/interesting pieces for OnlyWatch. He's not slapping a new dial color on existing watches like other brands.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone who got on the wait list for the CB with no purchase history prior to it being closed (so maybe like mid to late 2018) get allocated one yet?

Nope. Not very hopeful given the current madness.

I'm in the same situation, application accepted by Geneva boutique in late 2018; but at the time, they estimated a 4 yr wait. So that would be late 2022, assuming no other existing FPJ customers were added to the list in the meantime (as such customers would get priority to skip the line).

Then in early 2019 they announced that the list was closed / cancelled and also that production was being cut from 180 to 100 pieces a year to allow more capacity for other models. So if it was 4 years at old production rate, it would be 7-8 at the new rate. So, nobody like me (no previous purchase history, signing up in November 2018) should have an allocation yet. Check back in 2025-26-27...

Worth mentioning that due to low capacity and high demand, the waiting list really lengthened a lot over the course of 2018. If you had requested one in early 2018 you would have it by now. But checking my old emails, by mid-November 2018 when I finally had funds available to commit, they described it as a 'rare' watch with a approximately 4 years wait. And we know that wait has only gone up rather than down, due to production cuts. I try not to think about it too much, as it's quite feasible that I will never get to the front of the list before they discontinue it - it's already been in production 12 years.

There was no deposit required to go onto the list, only a 1-page application form, so if secondary market pricing had not gone crazy you would expect some customers would flake and not go through with the purchase by the time a few years pass and they get to the front of the line. But as secondary pricing is a multiple of the list price, I expect most people will take it when their name comes up.

I got my CB immediately, no waiting list, no previous history, it was readily available.

Can’t believe my luck, it is a beautiful watch.

Ever since I moved away from Rolex, I discovered the wonderful world of other brands.

Yes, 2018 is when things really took off.
I got on the list in January 2018 and was told about 9 months. I got it in 7 months.
August 2018 the list was at 2 to 4 years. Less than a year later the list was 8 years and closed.

Would be interesting to track if they are still sort of trying to deliver them in chronological order (though my expectation is low). I'm November 2018 waitlist and haven't heard anything. I see Skyrider above was January 2018 and delivered. Anyone in between that can chime in? :)

i expressed interest in a CB July 2018 at the Miami boutique. Completed their application form etc and was on said list. I followed up with the SA Aug 2019, and early 2020. No luck.

I have no Journe purchase history, at this time I am not holding my breath but one can dream.

Good luck! I got on the list with Miami the same time you did so hopefully we both get our hands on this amazing piece!
