Icon5 Rolex early 1900's???

I have recently come into the possession of an old gold ladies Rolex. I think this may be early 1900's and is still working. It has been in the family for at least 60 years (?). It appears handmade with serial numbers on the back: 71616 1358A. It comes with the original leather wrist strap. A photo of the front and back are attached.

Can anyone assist in providing further information on this watch, including age and approximate value. Thank you

Rolex has been stamping their cases since almost the beginning, so just reading what you have I would say

Roughly a 1939 watch, give or take a few years..

Model 1358A.. by itself, meaningless except to put a number reference if you run across another similar model.

No Halmarks, so I would guess it's base-metal, possibly brass.

There may be more meaningful numbers inside the caseback and on the movement..

Barring any historical attributes about the watches provenance, it is not likely of much value.. Possibly a collector of such things would pay a few hundred.. To be sure, you need the advice of a professional estate jeweler who specializes in watches to know if you have something more than a nice heirloom..

Thank you very much for your comments they sound correct, much appreciated. On the bottom of the watch face under the "6" reads <SWISS MADE>.

Early 30s or late 20s. NOT 1939. Probably 9ct. Hallmark should be on the inside of the case back.

Here's an identical one (ok, a lot cleaner with a better dial, sold for $500) from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-LADY...p2047675.l2557
