I'm looking for one of the above, what are people's thoughts on this:
http://www.antiques-atlas.com/devero...code=as246a128 What should be a fair price? |

Don't buy it!! That's my advice, way over priced. If you're patient, you should be able to pick a nicer one up off Ebay for about £700. If you find one, ask on the Forum for advice.

34mm, no date, non-COSC ... they're asking way too much

Thanks for the advice guys. It seems that fate has made my decision for now. I had offered the seller £900 for it (which in hindsight seems too much) howerver before he could accept the offer we had a car breakdown this weekend. the cash I had set aside will now have to go towards the repairs.
Thanks for the link to the Oysterdate, I was specifically looking for the plain Oyster. It's to replace a watch I was given as a 21st birthday present that was stolen from me a couple of years ago. I'll keep an eye out for another one at ther right price so do give me a nudge if you spot one. |

Watch looks legit. Can't comment on the B&P but at this price it looks to be a nice deal!

Sooo... buy the seller, hmmm.
here' is the sellers responses to my querieis about the servicing: "IAM SELLING THIS WATCH FOR MOTHER IN-LAW IT HAS ONLY BEEN OPENED BY ROLEX AND NO ONE ELSE" my reply: "That's fine, thanks for the repsonse. Before I bid however I would like to know when it "was opened by Rolex". Whenever a Rolex Service Centre works on a watch they provide a Servcie Certificate. This also provides a guarantee for the watch from the date of service. Does your Mother-in-Law have this paperwork?" His reply: "SHE HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR IT FOR WKS NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT IS IT WILL SELL AND THE SALE PLUS SERVICE PAPERS WILL TURN UP SORRY" Thoughts? What are my options for checking whether it has been serviced by Rolex? Last edited by paulyates1983; 23 August 2011 at 09:43 PM.. Reason: To add querstion |

I wouldn't bother.
As others have said, buy the seller. Something could easily be wrong with that watch and you'll end up sending at least 1/3rd of the watch's worth on repairs at Rolex Service Centre. The Oyster Precision is fairly popular on the market. I'd wait it out for the "right" one for you. You could also ask to meet the seller at RSC and they should be able to tell you when it was last "opened by Rolex" by verifying the serial number. Good luck. |

Thanks for the advice guys. After doing some maths I went back to the original vendor of the 6426 with an offer of £700, he came back with an offer of £750. Maybe a little over the odds, but I'm happy.
This means I can replace a watch that I've been missing ever since my original one was stolen 2 years ago, it'll be my everyday wearer. Now to find a Tudor Sub... (and the funds to pay for it). |

Ok I thought Rolex codes are like TAG codes, each code represent a specific color, according to a google search the dail is silver for that code
