Great interview, thanks!

I noted some highlights for me. Quotes are almost word for word.... so don’t quote me on that.

Next year is the “year of the Luminor”..... with “more 42”.

“Staying with the roots of the brand”.

People say “do more colors, do more smaller, do more ladies, do more diamonds...”, but no, “Panerai stays Panerai and we will continue to make masculine watches.”

“Don’t intend to decrease the size of the dials”.

“We don’t see a demand anywhere in the world....towards smaller size models.”

Models with complications will stay big.

New perpetual calendar movement is a “highlight” for next year.

Demand for adventure programs was 3-5x what was offered, with more to come next year. Six packages for around 200 people. All announced sometime next year, not sure when.

Historical Florence retail site will have a Panerai museum.

Bronzos are used to support boutique openings, with 2-3 usually readily available at opening.

Also, Bronzos are available via a waiting list with a slot associated to a date of delivery. Currently, if order, get one summer 2020.

“Create envy, not frustration.”

Thanks Cru. I think you hit the salient points spot on! Sign me up for that perpetual..a perpetual complication in conjunction with an hour/minute 372 with Plexi?!?! Sounds like heaven to me!

I was impressed with this interview. It finally sounds like he is getting the brand. The other interviews have been halting and awkward. This was good.

Excellent interview. He seems to be on the right path with the brand. Much more dynamic that Bonati. I take nothing away from Bonati but we needed someone new with some fresh ideas. The few times I’ve had the privilege to meet JM he’s very dynamic and very engaging, the kind of guy you’d like to hang out with, not because of who he is but just because.

The perpetual Pam will be the ‘look at me piece’ of next year. The ones who get it well you know why.

Can’t wait to see what happens at SIHH next year, actually hoping to go and check it out first hand.
