You need a watchmaker with Rolex caseback opener and a pressure tester.take it off the oem caseback, install the clear one and pressure test the watch.
10minutes job max.

I took it to a local watchmaker (that is a member of this site), and she did the install and pressure test.

I registered on the website but could not find out this info: does he make white gold and sapphire case backs for a WG daytona?

These posts inspired me to put one of these casebacks on my 1970 1601.

But since I was making it into a display, I decided to go further and replace the autowind assembly with an earlier one that had a butterfly rotor; older brass reversing wheels; and earlier inscription.

Here is the result, which I really like:

very nice looking , if they only did a nicer looking rotor , or a better finish option ,,
but the case back is factory fit looking.

About to order one for my GMT II Ceramic. Has anyone actually sent theirs for servicing/warranty work to Rolex with a custom caseback? Just want to know if I should bother changing it back to original if I need to take it there at some point..

Thanks for that, good link. My question was more about whether they'd be funny about a non-rolex part and refusing to service it under warranty, but this in the booklet kind of answers it. Guess I'll just have to change it back to original then..

Hi - Does anyone on the forum know if one of these clear casebooks would fit the new Tudor Pelagos? I tried asking on his site but never got a reply.

Thanks Everyone!

Just added the case back to my Yacht Master! I used a local Rolex qualified service tech to install and pressure test the back! He had not seen this display back before and commented how well the machineing of this case back matched the Yacht Master! Overall I really am impressed with how this looks! Cheers Jim. . . .

Hey, anyone know if one of these would fit my oysterquartz 17000? Would the back for the 16000 datejust be the same? It looks like it would be. I sent an email a couple weeks back but no response.
