Yes. Absolutely. And he best one that I ever had didn’t have an office full of expensive equipment to pay for. Never did an X-ray and never tried to sell a massage package.

My wife went to one that gives them all a bad name. First appointment was $900 and she got no relief after months. She went to my guy who does a lot of stretching and minor adjusting and felt like new after about 4 visits.

I do not let them “crack” my neck. He has a little tool that is like an air hammer almost that does that without the cracking noise. And has a jig saw that has a foot attachment on it (no kidding, that’s what it is. A black and dekker jig saw) that is magical for the muscles around the spine and in the neck/shoulder area.

From what mine tells me most of people’s issues are muscular that then cause nerve or alignment issues. He gets all over me about my posture as well.

Not me.

I’m relatively certain my guy exacerbated my issue years ago.

A 180 man putting all is weight and pressure when I breathe out in one quick movement just doesn’t seem right to me.

I go to mine every 6 weeks, I always feel better when he’s done. Usually when I leave his office I have to adjust all the mirrors on my car as I’m much “straighter” than when I got there.

Have a friend who's a personal injury attorney and he works very closely with a chiropractor.

There is a chiropractor website where several admit it is pseudoscience. It made my condition worse, but if it works for you, go for it.

Sounds like the chiropractic activator method vs the manual manipulation. I have lower back problems (spondylolisthesis) and have received relief from this method. I never had a good experience with the traditional method but this has helped. It's worth a try.

Anybody had any luck with Chiropractor's

I’ve tweaked my back a few times over the years and went to the chiro. The first visit they did an X-ray for about 50 bucks. After that it’s 30 bucks per visit. They don’t try to sell me a package or anything. They usually say no need to come back if your issue gets better. If not come back and see me. I probably go 2 or 3 times every couple years. Rolled by ATV over myself once an tweaked my back. Bottomed out my snowmobile once and compressed my back. I’m in for the neck cracking. Sounds bad but feels better. On a funny note a good friend of mine went and the chiro twisted him up like a pretzel. Told my buddy you’re going to feel like your going to fall but you won’t I’ve got you. When the chiro “dropped” him suddenly my buddy ripped ass on the guy. He tried to cover it up by coughing. The chiro said don’t worry about it. Happens all the time. I’m chuckling as a write this!

I believe they can do great things if your problems are muscular. In my case, I spent years with a Chiro. trying to get relief from neck pain. Things only got worse until I finally went to a Neuro. Doc. I now have a neck full of screws and a nice ti plate. And no more pain.

Never tried a Chiropractor. I had some back pain last year and used a structural integration specialist, combined with yoga. My back feels great now.

I got one of these babies for home plus a TENS unit and it works wonders.. make sure you get a good TENS unit though as you want full control of intensity.

Been to a few, they all seem like quacks practicing pseudo medicine. Just look at the increase in strokes in the elderly after seeing one. Some of the stuff they say is just flat out lying or complete ignorance.

With that said, I would recommend an Osteopath over a chiropractor. I think it is a bit of nonsense in either field, but at least the Osteopath has a medical degree (at least in the US they do). The Osteopath gave me stretching exercises to do in hopes of preventing my problem where the chiropractor just wanted to see me every 2 weeks for life.

I went to one for a sciatic nerve issue, didn't help at all, the guy didn't even want to directly address the problem and just gave me a general "adjustment". There might be good ones out there that actually try to help, but that wasn't my experience.

You should go to a physiotherapist instead who has a medical degree.

Anyone can be a chiropractor basically. This means that there are good and bad ones, you never know what you will get...

I went to a chiropractor once. Utter disaster. I arrived in discomfort and left feeling crippled and barely able to walk. Total voodoo BS IMO.

My wife goes to a chiropractor occasionally and it helps.

I've got some back problems and he looked at the x-rays and CT report I provided from my neurosurgeon and said he couldn't help me. So, he was honest enough to tell me my problem was not something that was in his area of practice.

I've known some MD's/surgeons that shouldn't be practicing, too, so one just needs to be careful either way.

I see one every two weeks. It seems when I don't in get worse. Worse in a sense, I can't work out, I struggle at times and the pain of my herniated disc really outs me down. I see him every couple of weeks and it seems for the last two years I can carry on with normal, physical life. So for me, I would like to think it works well.

I think many people misunderstand alternative medical treatments.

Mainstream doctors generally dole out medications and surgeons do invasive procedures.

However people who think visiting a chiropractor when their back goes out or have nerve pain, and think one visit and they’re cured are going to be disappointed.

Since we have haphazard medical care in this country we end up with dueling medical practicioners.

Chiropractors work great at aleviating pinched nerves and other structural issues, and probably help a lot of people with other issues associated with those pinched nerves as well. However it’s usually not a cure.

The cure probably needs other medical disciplines as well. Physical therapists help people build muscles and stretch so that our structures are aligned long term. Massage helps in this as well. Same as acupuncture.

The problems is most people are too lazy and want a pill or a quick fix. Hence we are a nation of obese drug addicted complainers.

We don’t seek to heal ourselves.

I have never been to one, knock on wood I have not had any back/neck issues. I can’t say if they do any good or not. I HAVE been to an acupuncturist, and swear, it helped a lot.

My philosophy is: If it helps, do it. Whether it’s “traditional” medicine, or aromatherapy, or chiropractic, or chanting while rubbing crystals, if it makes you feel better then don’t worry what anyone else says.

Yes, I've used one for about twenty years. I usually only visit when I have an injury. I get great relief from their service. Usually, I won't visit him for months and then need to get something fixed. Once I leave, I realize how out of whack I felt before and start regular visits until I get lazy (and cheap) again.

I have numerous muscular and skeletal issues stemming from years of abuse in sport and physical work.

And I tried a few over the past 35 years. I concluded that they tended to be delusional in their belief in the effectiveness of their methods.

Then I met one about 12 years ago And I was impressed with his ability to source the way to relieving muscular issues. Many a time he got me in shape to enter and even win a race when I was basically limping a week beforehand.

He is often trying to encourage me to do more spine and joint manipulations. But I discourage these. It is his very intuitive understanding of muscular problems that I see him for. His massage techniques are painful to say the least, but I find them very effective.

I had whiplash after a car wreck in the mid 90's. After 6 weeks of muscle relaxers from a MD I went to a chiropractor. I felt much better after the first adjustment and within a month I was back to normal.

I still have to go back about once a year after I've slept wrong or done something stupid.

I used one once. Discovered quickly it was the ultimate diagnose, treat, repeat business model ever. Everything is out of alignment. Your vertebrae are crooked. Your spine is twisted. Pfft... sales jargon.

Started swimming, changed my mattress, got a car with supportive seats, got Mephisto shoes and started moving more instead.

Perfect since.

I'd never recommend chiropractic work.

Many years ago, after weeks of debilitating pain from thoracic outlet syndrome gone wild, and no relief from MD, specialists, physical therapy, Medex extensions, heat therapy, massages; one of my managers suggested his D.O. friend.
I was like many of you: "No, I won't..."

But I was desperate, feeling like my career was in the balance and surgery was not going to happen.

After many weeks (at first 3x weekly, and tapering down) of therapy at the skillful hands of this exceptional D.O., who said he had never seen a case as bad as mine, I finally was back to normal. This talented specialist basically saved the quality of my life and my ability to work. And to this day, I am so grateful.

Along the way, I learned that many medical staff, including physicians from the same hospital my job was affiliated with, were/are his long time patients. My D.O. has an excellent reputation, and everyone I referred to him, has complimented his therapy.
