Icon20 For some discussion on modifying 5711...

As a regular brand in watch modification, Rolex is undoubtedly one of the most frequently seen brands. GMT-Master II, Air-King, Cosmograph Daytona, etc., based on these watches, every major modification brands make a lot of variety, presenting us with ingenious watch styles one after another.

But we are not going to talk about Rolex today, but want to talk about the modification of another popular watch by several major modification brands--Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711. The original price of this watch can jump three levels. Therefore, compared with Rolex, which has a large quantity and relatively low price, few brands dare to modify Patek Philippe watches, but there are always brands willing to make a bold trial.

MAD Paris

MAD added a black DLC coating to the watch and polished the surface, exuding a charming luster under the light. However, compared with other brands’ modification of Nautilus 5711, MAD is more restrained.

Designa Individual Watches

Leaving aside whether the modification has improved the appearance, the customization of so many spare parts alone requires a huge amount of energy and time. According to the official disclosure, in order to achieve the highest level of fine finishing, they spent nearly 10 months for development and 6 months for handcraft.

AET REMOULD

Like DiW's major modification of the Nautilus 5711, the German watch modification brand AET has also made many modifications to this watch. First of all, the case is replaced with a white ceramic material, with a white fluorine rubber strap, creating a pure and delicate style as a whole. In terms of craftsmanship, AET’s ceramic process will do brushing on the surface, which has the advantage of adding detailed textures to the watch, enriching the visual layering, and making the case more matt texture.

So compared with the original watch, what do you think of the modified Nautilus 5711?

Each of the modifications shown is an absolute insult to the beauty of the 5711 in her original dress.

So the last company takes your original case and bracelet and dial? They only use the original movement. Talk about a rip off.

In the end it's a fake Patek.

I'm 100% in favor of other people having their 5711s modified in this, or any other, fashion that they desire particularly if it's irreversible. Reducing the total universe of 5711s in original condition is a service that I endorse. It seems like it's too late to throw away ones' money on Crypto now that it's obvious that it's all going to zero value, but here is an avenue that one can exploit I order to corrupt their net worth.

I'll choose that original 5711/1P from the first pic and be done with watches.

The original looks perfect would not make a single modification

I guess it’s beautiful if you like miniature divers helmets. Ugly in my view.

I encourage “modding” Patek, adding diamonds, make it your own much like putting spinners Alloy wheels on a Rolls Royce just like the early 2000’s.
And one less original 5711 on the market increasing values of existing remaining pieces. I see what you did there 😉

Only thing I would do is a more artistic text engraving of the case-back (I prefer manuscrit or ancient typography vs soulless Times New Roman).

For engraving lovers there is/was this guy from Belgium....

For some discussion on modifying 5711...

I won’t judge people who do it, but personally I won’t. I love the watch the way it is. Also I am wondering what will happen to these pieces when you need to service it or request something from Patek? I guess they won’t even touch that watch anymore…
