Saw a Holland and Holland in the metal 2 years ago. Fantastic watch. Definitely worth a fortune now.

Did it originally come on the bracelet? The original list for the Holland and Holland was about 2X that of the CB. Seemed crazy.

H&H originally came on a strap.

I'm sad that I passed on one forever ago. Didn't like that it was missing a small seconds. In retrospect, the dial is stunning, and I should've picked it up. Who cares about seconds?!

Price over the CB was attributed to the dial. Demascus steel sourced from rare, vintage hunting rifles from a renowned British manufacturer (I'm too lazy to look up specifics).

Def a strap. I ogled one sitting in k2luxury’s inventory for some time. Loved the look and low production. Snooze you lose.

With the H&H you had to find the right one or ones, some dials look far better than others from what I’ve seen. All subjective of course.

The lack of sub seconds kinda threw me too, just because it’s something we are used to seeing.

I tried this H&H on at a boutique about 3 years ago.
Stunning dial, but at the time I thought 45K for a steel watch with no complications (not even a seconds hand) was nuts, so I passed on it.

Truly stunning.

But yes, the lack of seconds is what turned me off, to be honest.

Agree… amazing dial. I’ve just never been able to do a watch without a seconds hand.

Few things to consider.

FP Journe definitely operates off relationships. This is why there is such a breve of boutiques. Building a relationship is an important exercise.

I was fortunate enough to build a decent relationship with the Miami Boutique when it was in Bal Harbour. I spent time getting to know them. I met Pierre Halimi and got a chance to learn about their watches. Got a chance to drink great wine, meet interesting people, and really lean in.

Every time I went down to Miami I would spend time in the boutique. FP Journe is not “weeding out flippers”. There’s a real insincerity if you are getting into FPJ because you want to invest in the product. These are not investment pieces. Think of it as art. An artist wants to have his art collected. Admired. Loved. That’s the romance of this particular brand. It is set up in a very specific way.

By the way, trying to build a relationship with the New York boutique is a rather fruitless exercise. It a populous area with high foot traffic. You’d be best spending your time in boutiques that have lower foot traffic if you travel. I’m happy to report I own a CB but still have to wait 3 years for a Chronometre Optimum. That’s life. That’s FP Journe.

It’s not in building. It’s three years of lead time on time of interest to actual delivery. Cannot say how long you’ll wait. I’m a previous customer so I’d talk to your boutique or rep to get an idea.

Plus 10% buyers premium. But also I believe that was number 23 which if I understand Journe correct makes it early and a somewhat interesting number for any basketball fans lol

Agree that it is 71.5 not 65.

I have read reports that the earlier numbers had a lot of issues. Hard to say how much impact this (or the lack of box and papers) would have but suffice to say it's probably not 25k USD worth of difference.

Dented lug, I see the case is far from mint condition, no papers, no box, year 2010 model.. I wouldn’t touch if I am in the market.

I heard nightmares ppl buying stolen watches and watches that comes with non factory bits n pieces.

2010 ie early CB has a much lower market value than a 2019/2020 model.

That last bit is pretty stupid if you ask me. All things equal I would want the lowest number possible.

Not saying you’re incorrect I have no idea just stating my thoughts on early vs late production of any watch.

Box and paper is a must as any stolen watch being send back for service may not be returned.

Low serial Number is more desirable for sure

I echo that. Agree that box and papers is a must but I would also always go for an earlier model.
