They're obviously very happy with how they're developing the brand right now, and I think we will be seeing a swing back in Omega's favour in the next 5-10 years.

In my opinion if this model doesn't work in 2-3 years Omega will be in deep trouble and discounting 25% to 35%.

At the local Omega boutique, they said what they don't have they can order in 2 days. All the AD I talked to they said 4 weeks (or sooner). No wonder ADs aren't too happy, they have to compete with Omega itself?

I actually really enjoyed the omega boutique as the choice was far better then when I have been to a normal AD. My wife really enjoyed the experience when she purchased my PO LM chorno. I also got bored of the you could buy a rolex etc, I already own several of those. I have come to buy a Omega I for one have no dramas with the boutiques.

I took advantage of one of the ADs liquidating their Omega inventory and got a good discount on my PO 2500 back in December. I love this watch!

I respectfully disagree. They've been doing this strategy for a few years now and, if it weren't already pointing towards success, I believe they would have backed down already.

Why is everyone so keen on discounts? If they can finally put an end to massive discounting, perhaps they will eventually stand a chance of maintaining solid used values like Rolex do (thanks, largely, to few or small discounts).

They've made it clear that they're going upmarket. Many of their previous AD's have had a very mid-market feel to them, with Omega being the most premium brand in the store, plus they've carried a relatively small selection - which makes it no surprise to me that they're being dropped.

Just my 2c.
