Thanks Peter. HDR means "High Dynamic Range".
It is a post processing technique in which multiple shots of the same subject are taken using different exposures, and then the outputs of these multiple shoots are "stacked" and "merged" together by software, to create a final picture with much higher details but sometimes people would feel the photo is "unnatural".

Here is the website of a very famous HDR photographer, Trey Radcliff. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/

For the record, first I correct the exposures, improve the highlight and shadows of the pictures using Nikon Capture NX2 with Nik Efex Pro 3, then send the jpg to Photoshop with Topaz Denoise 5 for final production and crop.
I do use HDR from time to time, but definitely not on these 2 sets.
