I've been interested in microbrands for several months and have purchased some watches from a couple of Singapore based companies I think offer excellent values, Zelos and Vario.

With my 16710 GMT II getting refreshed over the next couple of months at the New York RSC, I started looking for a reasonably priced substitute with dual time zones and both 12 hour and 24 hour hands similar to Rolex GMT II.

This is "out for delivery" today, and I'm really looking forward to checking it out. It's from a small Danish microbrand called About Vintage and will be my first purchase of a quartz movement timepiece in years.

I remember these guys. I saw their AD on instagram, I wasn't a fan to be honest how they presented themselves.

They look like those typical (cheap) micro brands that pop up out of nowhere. Trendy name, flashy colours, vintage inspired watches and a cheap sourced movement.

I rather see Baltic and the likes.

To be honest, for little more than $300 my expectations aren't very high; its main purpose is to provide functionality similar to my 16710 when it's either not available or I want to avoid damage to or theft of the Rolex in a risky environment. The Baltic is nice, but three times the price.

I like the stainless case, sapphire crystal, and Ronda's claimed accuracy of -10/+20 seconds per month. I'll review it after I've worn it for a few weeks. It received 4.9 out of 5.0 average of 18 Google reviews and I didn't see any red flags.

So far I'm very impressed with it. Beautifully finished case and quality stainless bracelet with solid end links. I'll post a review after wearing it for a couple of weeks.

Hi Brian. Yes, the New York RSC has had it for about a week and estimated eight weeks for the service. There was nothing wrong with it, but it had been ten years since it was last serviced. I need to refer to GMT all the time (ham radio logs, aviation weather forecasts and flight planning), so I wanted a beater cheapie with the functionality of my GMT to tide me over until I get it back. The value proposition of this watch amazes me.
