Blue dials

Just wondering what, if any, difference between the blue dials of the 15300, 15400 and the current 15202.

Are they the same? If not what's the difference?

Anyone have a shot of all 3 side by side?

Different. 15300/15400 blue dial is the "Grande Tapisserie" pattern. The Jumbo 15202 is the "Petite Tapisserie". The former consists of larger squares compared to the latter. I believe the "petite tapisserie" in the 15202 is much harder to make.

Thanks Ben.

What about the colour? Any difference in the shade, hue or depth of the blue?

Never seen the 15300 before, but the 15400 in my memory is a lighter shade. The blue in the Jumbo is deeper and richer. Both are very nice. Best to see one for yourselves in real life to compare.

Plan on getting a Jumbo Mark?

Ha ha ha. Ben, that is the $25,000 question. I'm kinda itching to pick up something but haven't decided just yet.

However, I'm considering the 15300, 15202 and the 5711. What to do? What to do?

15400 not really in the running as it's too big for my wrist.

I see. Thanks for the info. Very difficult to do an in the metal comparo since the 15300 is out of production and the 15202 is rarely on stock at the ADs.

I handled all 3 within the last month but did not get pictures. Go with the 15202

these pictures were taken a couple of years ago and this Jumbo had mark 1 dial with a little bit purple color and a middle size of tapisserie pattern, but still relevant I think

15400/15202/15300

Mark, there's a new BNIB 15300 blue dial on Chrono 24, here's the link, if they really have it the price IMO is very reasonable:

The 15400 blue changes alot depending on the lighting. Mine looks different in this pic than the color posted above...but I have seen that color in certain lighting conditions.

Lexconsult's pic of all 3 is a pretty good representation of the 3 different shades of blue on the 3 APs from what I recall, so that should give you a pretty good idea of the differences.

15300 blue dial is getting hard to find, but I do really like the thin profile of the 15202.

Between the 15202 and 5711, that's a tough call though as both great watches.

Looking forward to seeing what you decide!

I know the 15202 is the darling of the family but I really prefer the slightly chunkier 15300. In addition to that I really like having a second hand.

15400 is a touch too big for my wrist.
