Ladies Datejust Crown fell off - Need Help

Hello all,

I've been reading the forum for a while and have finally decided to tackle my wife's watch problems.

It's a Ladies Datejust, I'm guessing late 1980's. The case says 69000A. (SS) with 18K white gold in the bracelet.
The crown went missing around 2 years ago and it's been sitting in a box ever since.

I got a couple of cheap watch fixing tools delivered today and I've started to have a look at the watch.
So, case off - Pin in the release button for the crown and winder and crown pin out.
Now, I need to know the crown size to order and where to order it from, so that it'll fit the tube. I'm guessing a new crown will just screw into the old pin? Also, once the crown and pin are remarried, will I just slide it back into the watch and screw it all tight again?
If anybody needs any more details, I can find them.

I'd be really grateful for any help and advice.
Thanks

So, under the bracelet it says 69190.
Also, when I look at the movement, it says 2135, 29 Jewel.

Putting 2 and 2 together, I'm guessing that the crown model number is
24-530-0
24-530-8
If I'm right the 8 stands for gold, so I should order the 0
Can anybody help to confirm this for me before I order the part, also can anybody tell me where is best to order an original part from - price etc
Thank you in advance

Or 24-530-9 seems to be white gold with the two dots.

How can I tell if my watch is white gold or not, I suspect it may be?

Back again - Does the 69190 - does the zero in this number indicate that the watch is completely SS?

It's interesting because I've just found the receipt from the jewellers that sold it to me about 10 years ago.
It states on the receipt that it's 18K white gold bracelet.
BUT - I think I've just found out that it's not and that it's all SS.

It's got diamonds all round the bezel.

A 69190 is a stainless steel watch; yes, the zero at the end of the reference number is the metal type. It may have a gold bracelet, but you have not given us the reference number on the bracelet.

I don't think that you can order Rolex parts without a Parts Account from Rolex, but you may be able to find a watchmaker with an account that can order it for you.

The crown simply screws on the stem and a white gold crown is the same in dimension as the SS.

Thanks Tools - That's great.

So the numbers on the bracelet are:
H9 on the top right
62523d.18 on the bar
486b at each end where the pins go.

A 62523d 18 bracelet should be an early Ladies bi-metal (yellow gold/stainless) Jubilee bracelet.

Yes, that's what I just found by looking at the clasp codes on the forum.

The bracelet I have is all white, I suspect all stainless steel. It is a Jubilee bracelet.
There is no yellow in it, so it looks like the clasp has been changed, also is the H9 the year code. That being 1983?

It's possible.

But your end-link codes are also for a yellow gold/SS bracelet, so at this point I would suspect a replica bracelet and would want to inspect it further.

Thanks Tools for all your help.
Yesterday I bought a crown and fitted it with no problems at all.
All is well, my adventures have continued further.
I've invested in an ultrasonic cleaner - It's done a grand job. I did take the movement out first before using it.
Also, I've ordered new gaskets and a new crystal with a gasket.
I'm having a lot of fun and wish to take my interest further, so far so good.
I'll be searching the forum now to figure out how to remove the bezel and replace the crystal.
Also, I need to replace the oscillating rotor axle part number 586. So no doubt I'll be investing in a staking set soon and asking for more advice.
Thank you so much.
