Icon9 Watch for the wife

So here is the dilemma,

I have a budget of $10,000 for a gift to my wife. She doesn't really like the look of the datejust and she doesn't like any watches smaller than 36 mm. I really don't know what can I get her. I'm open for all brands. The only requirement is that it has to be a mechanical watch.

Please help!!

Sounds like a fair swop.

What brands does the AD you do business with carry? My wife prefer the Tudor 1926 rose gold and steel for a DJ. But her favorite style is the square Cartiers.

My best advice is to let her pick. Surprise her with a visit to the AD and make an appointment. Have the SA show her several options that you select but let her choose from anything she likes.

Its the Win/Win. You get credit for the sentiment but no risk of buying the wrong size/color/metal etc.

Make it a date and go have a nice lunch or dinner after.

Good luck!!!!

My wife and I picked this out during a holiday event at the AD where I’m waiting on a Daytona. My wife gets more comments on this watch than we would have expected...and it’s half your budget. For your budget you could also get the same watch with tt bracelet for yourself as well as the Bund strap version here.

A lot of good advice from everyone, thanks!!

So we went to the AD yesterday and she putt her name down for a 114060.

The waiting period is around 6 months and the price is USD 8,000.

I upgraded my wife to the Steel/Plat YACHT-MASTER 37 from a 26mm DJ. She loves it and I like larger watches on women! She calls the hands "Tiffany Blue".

When it comes to Rolex, 37mm Yachtmaster. There's also a discontinued 35mm Yachtmaster with a platinum dial that my wife loves. If neither of those strikes her fancy, look at Cartier.

Gregouille: Beautiful ! May I ask where you bought the strap? It's a great compliment to the watch.

$13600 retail should be able to find at a discount.

My wife and I have very different tastes, so I wouldn't dream of buying something that expensive without having her pick it out first.

And she picked the grape OP.

Have you looked at the YM? The platinum bezel is incredible and may just add a bit of elegance which I hear some women really like.

Great choice. My wife has slim wrists but went for a 40mm. Tried on loads but was between the sub and 126621 - latter just swung it due to the curved lugs and the colour combo.

That looks like a YM 37. My wife has had the discontinued YM 35 for about a decade and still prefers it over the Datejust 36 I got her last Christmas. I think the YM 35 and 37 looks good on women with relatively small wrists.
