6+ Months Waiting For My 372, Going To Be a Long 6 Months

Short story;

Set my alarm to wake up early morning (0200) of Jan 14th to check the SIHH Panerai report. Didn't take long to figure out the 372 was a must add to my collection. Called my dealer at opening the same morning and put my name on the list. I deal with the manager and gave him the update on what to expect from Panerai this year. He called me this morning and said the Panerai rep had dropped off the SIHH release prices this past Thursday. I just left him a deposit to hold my place 1st in line.

Yah !! that watch crazy, its all about the passion.

Cool stuff. That's about right.
Over here, we should get ours by Christmas if Panerai sticks with their promise(s)....

I wouldn't count on this watch being delivered in any significant quantities early. I'm on the list at 2 places.

It's most likely not going to start distribution until year end of 2011 by the earliest.

I called my guy at Lenkers the day it was released... I better be the first guy he calls!!

I think you'll see the watches earlier - maybe even a few in August.

My understanding is that 372 is a normal production of 3000 piece when released. They could possible release 3000 for the first (or two or three) then reduce the numbers.... But who knows for now

What I heard was 3000 to be released over 2 years (aka 1500/year or 2000 then 1000, etc).

My guess is they are testing the water with how much demand this watch will have. It is sweet, but at 47mm, it may not be for everyone and they may just stop after 2 years with 3000 made. But they are being really vague on it, so maybe if it sells out like hotcakes, they'll make some more.....

yes but the 339 is already 15 months old and no more than 100/200 of th 1500 are already delivered
The 341 is more than 2 years old, only 500 pce and still they are delivering the last pieces

so how do you think they will make 3000 of the 372 in only 1 year ???
New movement, new case .... I really wonder how they'll do it .. They'll need several years for these 3000

That is what I heard from a p.com moderator. Just repeating what he stated, with my own addition to the theory that they are leaving it open to make more.

My Dealer Update on 372

Visited my dealer today and he said the rep told they would see their first 372 in September. Of course this dealer moves a lot of Panerai's, I am sure quantity helps what/when you get things

Yeah. Don't take that as gospel. My dealer was told by Panerai not to expect any 359s until October 2010, yet they got the one I purchased in August...
