How can I have a conversation with a moderator on the forum?

Is there a contact to write to to ask clarification questions about TRF rules? Would be grateful for a contact or a mod to reach out in PM. Many thanks.

If you have to ask permission, probably not a good idea to post it.

You can ask here in the open, or take your pick from this motley bunch... https://www.rolexforums.com/showgroups.php

If you received an infraction for breaking the rules, you should contact whoever issued it.

Lol I’m sure it’s not but I hope there room for explanation on an issue? Or it just doesn’t work that way here?

Ah I just saw your point about contacting the person who gave me the points. I contacted the mod who issued it to ask for clarification on the points deduction and what it meant. I also asked for reconsideration of the case.

I swear I was fully polite (have screenshots but don't imagine that will be necessary).

Yet I was told that I would be banned if I contacted this person again.

I fully respect the mods here, including the one in question (though I'm terrified now to contact them again!) and I now accept the decision that was made, but I feel like a threat to ban me for asking reconsideration was way harsh.

I don't want to Cool Hand Luke this situation because we all know how that turns out, so I'll move on from the issue, but can I at least get an idea of what the points deduction means? How long does that last? How many points do I have etc.? Would be grateful to know so I can do my best moving forward. Many thanks!

I can't comment on your case as it's not mine, but you got six points, expiring in six months. Nothing will happen unless you have an active total of 10+ points, in which case you won't be able to post anything till points expire, taking your total below 10.

Understood fully and thanks, that’s all I need to know, very much appreciate the info!

Starting a thread can be tricky depending on the topic. Many times you have to put up with a few unpleasant comments before the real discussion begins, so the best way to deal with it IMO is ignoring the posts you don't like, and I know this is hard to do, or think twice before starting a thread. Things can get out of hand here for no apparent reason so better safe than sorry. Just my humble view my friend. Take care.
