Buy only what you love and plan to keep. Buying any watch, particularly a Breitling with hopes of value retention / appreciation is a lofty goal (with the exception of a few obvious brands / models).

I don't know what the pre-owned market would be like for these if you did wish to one day sell it. All depends on the demand, and how many get produced, etc.

Buy for enjoyment, see it in person first, and try get a discount if even possible. Your appreciation for the cars / it's connection could make this a keeper by itself. Keep us posted, Jeff!

Probably not. If you like it, wear it and don't worry what others think. This series also caught my eye especially the Mustang version with the Bullitt Green dial. Nothing like it in my collection, yet!

I think it’s a cool watch. Love Shelby and the history of the company. If I was purchasing it for my brother or even for myself I’d be looking on the secondary market so someone else can eat the depreciation. You can’t wear box and papers.

If that’s the case, you already know your answer.

I don’t think anything is worse than tag for value?

You have to buy them right. I've bought all mine at healthy discounts. You also can't be a flipper, they you have to be a keeper!

I own two Breitling watches, which I love, and plan on keeping forever or passing down to my children or grandchildren.
If you are looking for ROI, only a few brands (Rolex, Patek, AP) will provide you with the piece of mind knowing that if you sell, you will most likely make money.

So, if you are looking to sell the watch at some point, Breitling is probably not your watch. Good luck

You have to love this new group of watch buyers/investors/or whatever you call them, because they sure aren't collectors or true horologists......

If you have even a slight concern over resale value, then Breitling is to be avoided @ retail 100%.

Buy this pre-owned or negotiate a discount (but it must be at least 30%). It will be pretty hard to buy on the grey market as most greys won't touch Breitling in any fashion.

I have no intention of selling it I love the piece I love it even more that I’m giving it away to my brother, I don’t love the thought of spending six grand to only have it worth 2 grand the second I buy it.

If you buy a new suit, a good quality one, do you first consider the resale value?

I think Breitling has touched on something with their small batch specialty themed watches. Last one was the Top Time Deus. Sold out instantly and still fetches a premium on secondary market. These new Time Capsule watches are very cool. I put in an order for the Mustang, big bullet fan. Also surprised to see any for sale since I was told release would not be until December.

Can’t speak to it holding value, but that dial is pretty beautiful — great combo with the strap.
