Incoming: "Blacked out" Santos de Cartier

A few years back when the Santos de Cartier line came out, I was totally obsessed with the shape and style of the watch. I went out and bought the medium size in two tone, because I thought it was the "classic" representation of the model. But with my large build and wrists, it never really stuck with me and got zero wrist time. But it looks absolutely FANTASTIC on my fiance who wears it all the time and gets tons of complements.

But... I still wanted MY own santos... Recently, I started looking into the "blacked out" reference WSSA0039 and became immediately smitten. An added bonus is that with the with the "Diamond Like Coating", one can feel confident the watch won't develop scratches (so they say... time will tell).

Anyway, Takuya had a nice one available at a good price and I had to jump on it (thanks Takuya!). I bought it sight unseen, but I felt pretty comfortable with it given my familiarity with the line from my first purchase. Looks sooooo good in person!

Now I have to go explain to "the boss" that I've now bought two watches in less than a month (I'm asking forgiveness rather than permission)... I'll be making the "his and hers Cartiers" argument :)

Congrats! That is an absolute stunning piece! I have a large white dial version and love it! It is frequently in my rotation.

Congratulations! I really love the look.

Forgiveness not permission is the way to go and “his and hers Cartiers” sounds like a solid argument to me ))

Nice piece. How does the adlc “feel” and how’s the rubber strap compared to oysterflex for example

The rubber strap is amazing. I was torn between this version and the steel and grey, since that comes with the bracelet and the rubber strap that is the one I choose. The all black though is super cool!
