Hard to get watch brands

Rolex scarcity is well documented, but are there any other brands at that price point or below where you can't walk into a dealer to buy a new watch?

Let's say sub $10k watches

I can only think of micro brands in response to your question: Ming, anOrdain being the first two that come to mind. In terms of mass market comparables to Rolex at that price point - I think Rolex is singular. Rolex is truly an incredible brand.

Men’s Rolex won’t be sub 10k for long believe that.

There’s a ton of brands harder to acquire than Rolex but most are more expensive to begin with.

I recently got a JLC Polaris chrono on a stainless band new for under the price limit listed. I was also at a real estate finance conference a month ago and the Polaris seems to be the new analyst watch. I saw a ton of their stainless bands and black dials but not many blue. Great dial depth and texture for the price.

I got about a 25% discount off new and people seem to be seeking alternatives to Rolex, so this could be a good option to wear from a watch collector, not investor point of view. I can’t see why Rolex wouldn’t step up prices in the near future and this seems like a great option with an open caseback and a new movement.

Some GS watches fall into this category. You cannot buy a White Birch I don't believe.

Omega - No Time to Die and Snoopy
Grand Seiko - White Birch, maybe the Omiwatari and SLGA007 come to mind
Tudor - several

Granted these are all specific watches - I agree there's nothing quite like Rolex in terms of a lack of availability.

Journes are way above $10k, but try getting a Chronometre Bleu. Also, Patek Nautilus or Aquanaut are pretty hard to get.

Ups sorry I misread the OP comment, yeah I think small niche brands like Ming are hard to get

Those GS are limited editions. A number of them trade above retail. Look at the recent SBGW273, 275, and 277 for example.

I don't know of any *regular production* GS that trades above retail.

Maybe it’s just my experience, but I believe the Cartier Santos has become much more difficult to obtain.

Blue Dial Girard Perregaux Laureato isn’t so easy to find these days, out of stock on several UK websites
