Probably this video could help, it's very useful...

I own one NATO and it is the worst wearing experience : the watch sits too high, I feel some abrasive friction on my wrist and it is so long that it needs to be folded. It looks very cheap, event being a black piece.

Remove the under strap, remove the extra keepers with a Knipex cutter, shorten the strap to suit and seal the cut ends with a flame ....job done.

The standard NATO is way to cumbersome.

Time for a review on a new to me alternative strap. Just completed another mod that needed the perfect strap to complete & compliment the build.

The requirements were:
-adjustable parachute stretchy nylon
-no strap material between watch & wrist, due to the clear case back
-red accents to highlight the "coke" aesthetic

The best candidate for this job was Watch Steward. At $25.00 and no special sizing custom order necessary, I decided to give them a shot. I've been very happy w/ my EO MN strap, that I've used on many of my watches.

The Watch Steward strap was shipped immediately and delivered in short order from Georgia. WS offers 3 different material types and 3 mounting styles. I ordered the 22mm TDM original style. The nylon material & SS hardware were thinner than expected. It took 3 install attempts to learn the easiest method, but once that's conquered, it's very fast and easier than an MN strap.

Once installed I was very impressed with the comfort. The hardware was not felt at all, which I positioned on the underside of my wrist. The watch stays in place and feels very secure. With no additional material between the watch & wrist it keeps a lower profile than a Nato or MN strap, which works well for the display back.

Very happy w/ the Watch Steward strap. Between the low price, no custom order required, and made in the USA for faster delivery, it's hard to beat the value & comfort. I'm ordering 2 more for multiple combos w/ existing watches.

Per my earlier post, loved the Watch Steward Original so much I ordered more.

It really plants the watch on your wrist more than any other strap I've worn.

You'll be seeing more of these combos from me in the future.

Okay, a bit boring as far as NATO straps go, but it does pair well with this Seamaster...

~~~
But here's a NATO color-combo you don't see every day...
~~~

I'm a sucker for NATO paired with the 16600...

~~~
And last but certainly not least, I absolutely love Tudor's “Jacquard” woven straps
I’m happy I went with the G series style. Less hardware and they are so easily adjustable compared to the EO straps. You can place the buckle in any position you want in a split second.
At a third the price of the EO straps these really are a no brainer. I would like to see a few more color combinations but I have absolutely no complaints. Can’t thank you enough for turning me onto this product.
I wish they took custom orders. I’d like to get a TDM strap in grey with a red stripe for my Tudor Ranger. EO has that combination but now that I’ve seen the quality of the WS straps I’m reluctant to spend that much.
You should let WS know what color combos you'd be interested in. You never know, he might be able to get it.
My latest combo… Nomos Club on Erika’s Original Mirage strap. I hated to pay the EO price but they had the combination I wanted. If the Watch Steward made this combo I would have jumped on it. I did ask if they could do a custom order but no luck with that.
Anyway, I think this combo works great with this watch.
EO is the way to go if it completes the right combo. And it has.
Thanks, pal! You can't beat the value & comfort, Jim.
May I suggest the TDM version of their straps. At first they feel less than substantial compared to other parachute strap material. But that opinion quickly changes to a more refined quality feel vs unsubstantial.
