Classic, original "Bond" Seamaster
Never fully warmed up to the sequels and a bit cheesy "special editions" with 007 second hand. I've had this since... well... early 2000's and it never gets old.
The original Bond Seamaster must be one of the best "bang for the buck" watches in the pre-owned market. I wrote a blog of my watch too (a few years ago). Cheers. https://luxurywatches635.wordpress.c...nd-2531-80-00/

I have to agree with you. This is best iteration of them all. Beauty.

Omega made some very cool watches in the early and mid-2000's and then their designs somehow "stagnated". PloProf reissue was very cool though... and I like the new PO's a lot... but they're pretty much just old design too. Cheers.

It's the best version no question. Around 2008 I had two 2531.80. One with yellow markers and faded bezel and the other new. Sold both back then. I'll be honest with you, if someone offers me another one I'll probably buy it again.

Can’t argue with you there but I have to add that the 2254.50 is a pretty awesome watch for the price as well. Omegas new movements are pretty hard to beat but I still prefer the earlier generation designs.

Can’t argue with that. I bought this one new just as they were phasing out.

Yours looks dynamite. I have been noodling the idea of adding this watch to my collection when the right one comes along.
By the way, there are a surprising number of members named JP in this thread |

The "Bond" automatic was my first good watch and I have fond memories of it, even though I let it go over a decade ago. I sometimes miss it and I too dislike the 007 editions but I have considered buying the current blue dial version, which far surpasses the original in every way. It's nice to know that you can, somewhat, go home again.

The 2531.80 is probably one of the best watches Omega has ever introduced. It is very easy to wear and visually well balanced.

I have the same one bought at that same approximate time.
It was the most expensive thing I bought after houses and some cars. Mine still looks and works like new, (had it factory serviced a year ago). Wore it as my daily until I got my DJ in Dec of 18. Now the poor Omega gets wrist time only a day or two per quarter. I love it and do not plan on ever letting it go. |

I actually started off wanting this watch. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford it, when I finally could I started looking at Rolex too. I ended up going with a Sub and it just kept going from there. Although I have owned 3 omegas since my first sub and currently own the speedy Ultraman. Maybe it’s time to buy this watch?
