Anyone buying before the hike?

Are you guys planning on buying before the 1/1 price hike? If so what model are you getting?

I would think availability, not price, determines when people buy. Hike or no hike.

This ^.

I'm pretty sure no-one's sitting around saying, "Damn, I keep forgetting to go and buy that Rolex I've been after, so I'd better just pop into any old AD and pick one up before the prices go up".

Guys, I am not talking about models you are after.

Surely we all are a bit crazy and have a secret list of models we dont need but wouldn't mind having in our collection. Was just checking to see if anyone is planning to pickup any of those models.

In that case, no I'm personally not. The couple of pieces I'm after are discontinued, so RRP price rises don't affect me. Sadly I'm at the mercy of the wider market prices...and they're even more fickle unfortunately.

I plan to pick up a Daytona, SkyD and Pepsi before the price rise

Now I just need to find an AD who will sell them to me...

I was in two NYC AD's today. Totally empty case except for one 31MM Gold DJ.

So with that information, my answer would be no.

The hike of 2021, 2022 and 2023 will have been in effect before most get to buy

Are you talking about buying donuts to bribe the AD’s into giving us a chance?

Two things determine the timing of my purchases: liquidity and availability. The real limiting factor is that they both have to happen at exactly the same time. So I’m guessing not before 1/1.

I remember when this was a legit question and the most common reply was something to the effect of - I'm not worried about the hike, I can still go grey for X% below msrp anyhow.

Count me in on those who would like to buy a piece before the hike. Just need to find something I've been wanting.

I’m planning on buying, but will my AD allow them to come to fruition is another story.

This is a ridiculous question for new through AD.

It is a fair question when going grey. I suspect the greys will also raise and create an even higher ceiling on market.

My brother got the call yesterday from his AD for the new 36mm Explorer.
Just 3 weeks after the request with no purchase history.
Picking up tomorrow.

Exactly and myself have seen no 100% fact confirmation of any price rise only the normal internet speculation .

That's ridiculous. Who is going to buy a $10,000 watch that they don't need?

But... but it's on the Internet, so it must be true! I read it on TRF!!!!
