Adjust time backward on 1500?

My late 1970's 1500 does not appear to have a hacking mechanism, as the second hand continues to run when the crown is pulled out all the way. If it is running fast and I want to adjust the minute hand backward, will that cause any damage to the movement?

I was about to make such an adjustment and hesitated to do so because the second hand stopped when I started the minute hand backward.

I appreciate any information you can give me.

Hi,
This is quite normal and it will not affect your watch moving the hands backwards.
It was an issue in some very old watches with calendars etc.., but not with your watch.
A lot of owners use the fact the second hand stops or sometimes runs backwards as a form of hacking for non hacking models.

In fact, my 1968 users manual for my 1603 says to set the seconds, that is what you do.
