Nothing w/ the 1st Mondera shot. The 2nd knocked me out for 24 hours, then everything back to normal.

Interesting stat with the 95%. Can you post a solid source to this, I’d be interested in reading more about this.

Don't know the particular circumstances and data in Florida but generally speaking,

Herd immunity seems hard to attain at best, if not somewhat utopian, given the ever growing % of vaccinated individuals' threshold required to stem the Delta variant spread or whatever is up next.

Both shots of Moderna. Second shot left me a little hungover the next morning. The second shot hit my wife like a runaway truck and she had flu like symptoms for about three days.

Well my shot was the Pfizer and I’d really like to be able to get the second but it looks like I may have to wait quite a while to do so. And I specifically called my md the Friday before to ask when I was good to get it. They said I could get it as soon as 2wks after being diagnosed with COVID. So I figured, 8-10wks later should be fine right? NOPE! My next appointment is with cardio to make sure nothing stupid/permanent has been done to anything. And I’ll prob make an appt with my primary just so I can go in and lose my sh1t on them for giving awful advise

The second Moderna vaccine hit me pretty hard and I had a really high fever (103-ish), muscle aches, light sensitivity, and tiredness starting about 12 hours after and lasting for less than a day from there. So it sucked for a day. That is much better than a lung transplant.

If you already had COVID, would it seem likely you would have an equal or stronger reaction after the first vaccine than the second? (whereas those who have never had COVID would be more likely to have a reaction to the second?)

Lung transplants suck…..but so do heart etc…. I actually stumbled across an article stating that some people who’ve had COVID are experiencing what I am with their first shot and nothing for the second. This needs more investigation

All I have to go by is data from infectious disease doctor friend of mine who is now telling me all the ICU admissions, maybe except for one or two, are unvaccinated.

And states like California with higher rates of immunization aren’t seeing resurgence in communities that are vaccinated.

If anyone really cares to know, the CDC has compiled a VERY VERY comprehensive matrix of every side effect and death reported as a result of the vaccines…broken down as to which vaccines caused which side effects and deaths

My wife and I got the Moderna in February, (her) and April (me). Her reaction to the second shot was she was never so sick in her life. She said it was as if the medicine found every little part in her body that was sore or injured and simply attacked it along with blazing headaches.

Me, a sore arm after the second shot, but it seems that around 9.30-10.00 PM, I'm ready for bed. Could be because I'm 65, don't eat as well as I should and don't exercise as much as I should, but damn!!

I had a sore arm from the two Pfizer shots and that's about it.

Recently, I had a tetanus shot and a shingles shot at the same time and had a stronger reaction to those than I did the COVID shots.

In a bad third wave now in SA.Third wave: Delta variant driven,90%.2nd wave was Beta variant.1st wave ,original variant.

Some remarks :

Some nurses who had J+J in March ,had breakthrough Covid infections now (Past three weeks .Light to moderate disease .)

Private hospital group stats : On those that got J+J and still got breakthrough infections > 92% light,6% moderate ,2% severe .

In our icu's,lines of patients tubed, ventilated in prone position .Bad sight ....

Gave anaesthesia,yesterday, to a 85y old,pacemaker etc,who had Covid in May ..very light .
Another hosp ,a 26y fit healthy old male ,in big trouble on a vent .
Prediction remains a mystery .

Get the vaccine ,there is no argument against it .It puts the balance in your favour.Simple.
If the world wants to get rid of it,we need as many as possible vaccinated ,as soon as possible .

My own experience : Stuffy nose for 2 days.(J+J)My wife the same .(J+J)My son (J+J in the USA) felt weak and tired for a day .My daughter (J+J) had back pain and felt tired for a day .

Second moderna hit me pretty hard. But glad I did it and threw in to help get us out of this mess. Sorry to hear your experience OP. That’s a bummer.

Your unfortunate outcome has been experienced by others.
You are correct to seek more information from your medical provider and maybe even a second opinion albeit status post injection, and perhaps have your adverse reaction recorded in VAERS as well.
The carrot and stick to get vaxxed is majorly presented and broadcast almost like "one size fits all"?
I hope you are feeling better.

Alpha...Beta ...Gamma... Delta ..... ???

Quite a clever thingy for something that doesn't have a brain .

Our "friend" the virus doesnt need a country to form new variants ,it needs transmission. The more transmissions, the higher the chance of new variants .
The higher the percentage of the population vaccinated ,the lower the transmission .
If vaccinated and you get a break through infection ,it gives you a much lower chance of ending up in ICU and (almost)100% protection against death. This is with Delta .New variants in the future,we may be back to square one .....New strain development is what we need to stop...or try and stop.

So getting vaccinated is not about YOU,its about EVERYBODY,which in future will benefit YOU too.

I quote an infection specialist : If you are afraid of the vaccine, you should be MUCH more afraid of the virus.

I’m an MD, severe reactions to the vaccine are far more rare than severe reactions to COVID. On balance, vaccine wins and it’s not even a debate based on current data. For those who are wondering about long-term side effect of vaccines, you are correct in that we do not have data on this yet to conclusively say one way or the other. However, historically based on decades of vaccine research we do not have evidence to suggest that long-term side effects occur with vaccines that we don’t already know about in the early stages, and I wouldn’t expect that to change now. Again, the risk is low from vaccines, but the risk of a bad outcome from COVID (and risk to others and risk to global reopening) is high. I have seen a few adverse events from the vaccine (keep in mind with half the globe being vaccinated, even rare outcomes will present themselves). But,VERY VERY few adverse events were severe enough to advise against a second shot. Most are transient and resolve without much consequence in my experience.

Here in the UAE I had two shots Sinopharm back in January (was all we could get at the time). I recently had a booster of Pfizer and will follow up with a second shot in around 4-5 weeks.

I can say that the symptoms I had from the Sinopharm were much much worse than Pfizer. However, I welcomed the symptoms for all of my shots as I knew it meant something was working.

By my understanding, it isn’t the shot that gives you the symptoms, it’s your body’s own defenses.

Wife and I had Pfizer with no reaction other than tenderness at injection site. We both took Tylenol immediately after the shots and then every 8 hrs or so for two days. Never felt any other negative symptoms. Cheers, Tim

I got the Moderna last winter. Nothing after the first shot, possible minor side effects the day following the 2nd, or it could of been something else.
