Cartier Santos Green Large Dial Opinions
Hey all - kind of getting the itch to buy another watch.
For some reason, I went into a store the other day and they had a Cartier Santos Green Dial, Large and I’ve never seen it before. Truthfully, I never even thought about getting a Cartier watch. I still don’t even know why I want one! 😂 Do they hold their value? Should I look for a used one? I know it’s a 2023 so prob not a bunch out there. https://www.cartier.com/en-us/watche...RWSSA0062.html Let me know what you think! |

Cartier Santos is one of the best watches incase of being versatile. You can switch from bracelet to strap like in 5 seconds and on the fly. Both bracelet and strap are of high quality.
Just not sure of green strap but if you like it, you can go ahead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76z-kNuIvJI |

First, yes to Cartier! I’ve got a number of them and they’re great watches. The Santos does a great job of being both sporty and dressy depending on the context, especially with its quick swap bracelet.
To your question on value, the modern Santos has some moderate discounts on the secondary market that may make it worth it if you’re able to find one. The green, as you mentioned, is a lot harder to find secondhand because it’s only a year old. |

Big yes but I prefer the medium size personally as the bezel to bracelet proportion is better

Why do humans climb Mt. Everest?
Why do we explore the deepest oceans? Why do we post on TRF asking questions? 0.jpeg . PS: Get it, they're great timepieces. . .

Santos is a wonderful watch with amazing history. This past Sunday my husband purchased the large version with white dial. The green was available but it’s not the easiest to read.
I purchased the medium Santos with the diamond bezel. Those diamonds are really something special in the sun. Cartier watches in our experience keep very good time. Very good. Resale is good on Cartier. I’ve sold one. Not Rolex like but better than most brands. Another plus is the amazing bracelet. And Cartier service might be the best. |

The bracelet doesn't get enough mention. Wife just got her Santos, and more than anything, I wanted to examine and play with the bracelet. That thing is slick.

As long as you don't mind scratches. The bezel is a magnet for them. You'd lose some money if you bought and tried to resell but you could do much worse in that department.

Great watch! I think it's a great value for the price. It has an inhouse movement, it's water resistant to 100m, more antimagnetic than a Rolex Milgauss, and incredibly versatile. The Quickswitch bracelet system makes changing between the metal bracelet or a leather/alligator, or rubber strap super easy.
I have tried the green one on and it's quite handsome. It looks, black under a lot of lighting conditions, but the green is really attractive when the light hits it just right. I've had a large Blue Santos for 4.5 years and I love it. I've never had any uses with it. I love the black and the blue straps from the ADLC and the PVD models. They are great in the summer. Good luck and happy shopping! |

De Santos is an amazing timepiece with unrivaled history. People who spend a few minutes looking at Cartier watches quickly understand why Cartier has become the number two luxury watch brand (behind only Rolex). The hand adjustable bracelet is a masterpiece IMO. Straps are great, such a versatile system. You should own one!!!!! My wife and I share a WSSA0037 which is the grey dial with ADLC bezel. Good legibility and some added scratch protection to boot. So many beautiful options.

My wife and I both got the green one last November. It stole wrist time from my DD 40 onyx, that’s how much I like it. I am a bit of a Cartier fanboy.

I'm a fan of the applied numerals and lumed hands, but I do wish the green dial was a little more green. It's mainly green in the middle (when the light hits it right), and then gets darker as it goes out towards the bezel - very "smoky."

I love it. Slim, comfortable, incredible bracelet (tool less sizing, easy change for the strap) and great history. Arguably it was the very first pilots watch. The green dial is stunning. Chameleon like. Its a graduated dial. Some pics from my thread here: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=927033
