Is it safe? Near Penn station?

Yes...I’m putting a is it safe thread.

Me and 4 other guys just left dinner at Times Square NYC....was walking south toward Some Penn station. I’m wearing my nautilus talking to another friend of mine about the watch... and next thing I know one of my buddies in front of me was hit with a sneaker by a homeless guy. Buddy was not a small guy...his glasses went flying...my other buddy quickly confronted the perp...

Glad my buddy was okay. He stayed calm. Didn’t want to get the police since none was around...but also didn’t want to get involved and give a beat down on the perp who was clearly crazy and homeless.

What if some body hit me, knocked me to the ground...or worst damaged my watch?? I could physically handle myself but my watch would not come out unscathed....

So is it safe...I’m not sure. Just venting a bit but this is crazy.

Penn station is not the most fun place in NYC and an area that I try to keep my conspicuous watches under my sleeve

I didn’t want to ruin my watch... besides. I’m more of a lover not a fighter. Plus there were 3 other guys.

I was more upset my ultimate feast looked not so ultimate.

:) Glad you’re OK. With those Patek’s of yours you might need security detail

NYC is very safe. My wife and we’re recently there and stayed in SOHO and felt fine. Had the 5960/1a and didn’t attract any unwanted attention. The are you were in isn’t the best though. You were right to move along and vacate the area. No harm done, everyone stayed safe including the mentally unstable nutcase that assaulted your group.

lol its been a while since I've had an ultimate feast. Either I got older and wiser or the food quality went down because when I was young I thought Red Lobster was good food.

NYC is generally safe. penn station area has gotten worst over past few years tho. But yeah, no one was severely hurt, no watches damaged. Just gotta be more aware.

Yeah, I also think leaving the danger zone before the situation escalated was the best move. I would have called the cops as I left though.

In any case, good to know that your group was unharmed. I hope that incident didn't ruin the night completely.

If it's the same buddy, he deserved the shoe.

Taught to have a plan to kill everyone you meet? I assume a joke? (In bad taste)

It’s a General Mattis quote. I assume the poster is a Marine. If it’s in bad taste, it’s only because we live in a bad world.
